He seems to know everything about everything...history, archaeology, philosophy. However, he has very little or no idea about the concepts and methods of archaeology. Someone as popular like him must refrain himself from representing all knowing individual. It's perhaps good for presentist need and his popularity. He also misrepresented Wingrow-Graebers idea as well as Upinder's arguments. He has talked selectively about some artefacts without having any idea about archaeological context and archaeological stratigraphy. I think these populist approaches are very harmful for the complexities of the past. I am not sure if Harrapan cultures, for him, are only confined to some cities or selective cities. Even his presentation on the monsoon is spurious too. I am sorry to say that Mr. Pattanaik must refrain from claiming something which he is not ware of.
