Al Bayhaqi narrates from Sha’bi: Abu Bakr visited Fatimah and ‘Ali said to her, “It is Abu Bakr seeking permission to see you.” She said to him, “Would you like me to grant him permission?” He replied, “Yes,” and she permitted him to enter.
