Sirhindi went to Jehangirs court and told him that Jibreel ( Gaberiel) came in dream and told him to Bring Dar Ul Islam in India completely. Jehangir was a wise Sultan after a few moments of listening to Ahmed Sirhindi he asked him ....Maulana Who Is The Emperor ? Sirhindi Replied Zill E Elahi You are.... Jehangir Relplied Doesnt Jibreel Know That Sirhindi became nervous Jehangir Asked The next Time Jibraeel Comes in your dream tell him to come in the emperors dreams you have a months time. Jibraeel Never Came In Sirhindis Dream So He Imprisoned Sirhindi For 5-10 years

I love that Akbar tried to do something humane and egalitarian, and all the Islamic scholars (historical and present) condemn him for it. Shows what the religion is really all about. Thanks for an honest account if nothing else. Inshallah one day most of Islam will be "Forgotten Islam"

If Din i Ilahi was implemented, there would be no assurance that there would unification. Islam in India did not need to unite religions, rather it created co-existence between religions where every religion can thrive rather than be forced into one bigger religion which may just inflame extreme religious zealots.

Sadly, in India much of Mughal history has been silenced - a result of the far right BJP party and their extreme policies. This is why I feel it is compulsory for me to shed light upon such history to enlighten not just India but the Indian subcontinent on a glorious history.

I would say that Akbar was the greatest of the Mughal rulers of India. He knew how to rule a Hindu majority nation as a Muslim. If it was not for Akbar, the Muslim rule in India would have faced its downfall much earlier. I don’t know if he was anti-Islam but perhaps the intolerant bunch got a lot of heartburn from him. Do you find Aurangzeb an ideal ruler ?

I would disagree especially in comparison to Aurangzeb. Firstly because he is only 'great' (supposedly) due to social reforms - i.e. Din i Ilahi - but that opposed Islam and also was not a conqueror like Aurangzeb. Secondly, I fully disagree that Muslim rule in India would have faced its downfall earlier since there is no evidence Islam was failing to fit in India and also because with Din i Ilahi, Akbar would have got rid of Islam more earlier - its actually irony that he would have caused the fall of Muslim rule earlier instead. Aurangzeb on the other hand maintained Islam and was not intolerant - when he did crush temples it was a political statement not religious.
