agree there is little info about letting it dry before continuing, it is very unhelpful so I moved on to other tutorials where they give helpful info.... isn't that the point of a tutorial

Wow, that’s beautiful. I got into oil painting for a few months a number of years ago and really enjoyed it, but I didn’t stick with it. I love the portability of water color painting verses oil painting, so I may give this a try. I just retired, so this could be a great new hobby for me, and you make it look very doable. Thank you!

Took a Bob Ross painting class almost 20 years ago in high school. Just happened to be in the dollar store about a week ago saw some watercolor paints in tubes? Grabbed some cheap brushes and a small pack of canvas boards. Had so much fun recreating this. Picked up better set of brushes since then. Also need recommendations on water colors as well. Great vid!!

It looks incredibly stunning! Your method of using the watercolor makes it so easy to follow, and the brushstrokes are incredible, which makes it so astonishing. The color tone is so mesmerizing to the eye. Your technique of mixing the water and the paint is so elegant that it has the perfect brightness and darkness of the color. Overall, it is marvelous.

Thank you I really enjoyed watching this and I'm going to give it a try...so, when you lifted up your masking tape did you let that 1st part of your painting dry overnight first? or for a few hours I would be so worried that I'm going to mess it up with the masking tape...??

I've recently expanded my media from pencil, charcoal to pastel, ink, and water color. I use many of the same techniques in each media. It is the touch as much as anything else. Watercolor offers much in the way of creativity. His approach was my thought as I began Watercolor. Water lightens, pigment darkens. Blending, shading, light, shadows, tone, all the same light, soft touch of love in every stroke.

Thank you so much for this beautiful tutorial and for sharing your wonderful artistry with us! I was wondering, what watercolor paints do you use? I currently am a beginner with watercolor(I usually paint with gouache or acrylic), but have been using the Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolors. They're wonderful for playing around with the medium and learning, but I've been doing endless research on professional or artist grade colors, and I can't seem to choose! They all have their own sets of pros and cons. Thank you again!

It is beautiful. I bought some watercolors pencils today and want to learn how to do this. I have a few questions. What kind of paper should I buy so I can do watercolors like this? What kind of tape did you use on the painting and pull off? Is it the same tape that is all around the edges? Thank you for your help.
@AhmadArt2 жыл бұрын
Try to purchase a watercolor paper that is 140 lb or more, I used cold pressed paper, it has a bit of texture vs hot pressed which has none. I simply use a masking tape for my paintings, 😊 Good luck 🎨👍🏻

Thank you for the sound of rain. So relaxing. What type of masking tape do you use please? And why does m8ne, no matter what brand I use, damages my paper?
@AhmadArt Жыл бұрын
I'm glad you like the video :) I use a masking tape from my local dollar store actually. I think if you tried different tapes then perhaps it has something to do with your paper? If I know what paper you use, maybe I can help you out more. If your masking tapes are super strong ones, that can be a potential reason why your paper damages too.

I ended up using painter's tape. It did not feel up the paint thankfully, but sometimes it peels up part of my paper when I'm done. Not the best tape, but my picture came out great this time at least!
@gabrielleards33982 жыл бұрын
Hey I have a tip just take the piece of tape your using and put it on your pants or shirt a couple of times first and then put it on your paper it will help it not be as sticky and will keep from ripping your artwork! Hope that makes sense and helps :)
