agree there is little info about letting it dry before continuing, it is very unhelpful so I moved on to other tutorials where they give helpful info.... isn't that the point of a tutorial

Even student quality paint will work well on cotton paper. It might just be that the paper is slow to absorb.

As a beginner I’m not gonna lie this was very hard for me to follow. I had to keep pausing bc it was so fast, had to Google what the colors looks like and I just had to scrap it :( yours looks great though

It looks incredibly stunning! Your method of using the watercolor makes it so easy to follow, and the brushstrokes are incredible, which makes it so astonishing. The color tone is so mesmerizing to the eye. Your technique of mixing the water and the paint is so elegant that it has the perfect brightness and darkness of the color. Overall, it is marvelous.

I currently am a beginner with watercolor(I usually paint with gouache or acrylic), but have been using the Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolors. They're wonderful for playing around with the medium and learning, but I've been doing endless research on professional or artist grade colors, and I can't seem to choose! They all have their own sets of pros and cons. Thank you again!

Any kind of masking tape or painters tape will work

I ended up using painter's tape. It did not feel up the paint thankfully, but sometimes it peels up part of my paper when I'm done. Not the best tape, but my picture came out great this time at least!

Hey I have a tip just take the piece of tape your using and put it on your pants or shirt a couple of times first and then put it on your paper it will help it not be as sticky and will keep from ripping your artwork! Hope that makes sense and helps :)

My art teacher taught me this I’ve never had a problem with my tape ripping the paper after that no matter which tape I was using 😊

Try to purchase a watercolor paper that is 140 lb or more, I used cold pressed paper, it has a bit of texture vs hot pressed which has none. I simply use a masking tape for my paintings, 😊 Good luck 🎨👍🏻

Wow, that’s beautiful. I got into oil painting for a few months a number of years ago and really enjoyed it, but I didn’t stick with it. with watercolor it’s extra important to let layers dry before you add more paint, and to be sparing with the amount of paint you use. start from lightest to darkest layers

Took a Bob Ross painting class almost 20 years ago in high school. Just happened to be in the dollar store about a week ago saw some watercolor paints in tubes? Grabbed some cheap brushes and a small pack of canvas boards. Had so much fun recreating this. Picked up better set of brushes since then. Also need recommendations on water colors as well. Great vid!!

Reading the white text was hard and hard to follow. My Hookers green was nothing like the bright vivid green you used even with adding yellow it just turned out like camouflage. What colors did you use for the trees, and what did you mean by "I used less water" for the hog brush part? Less wet on wet, or less water for mixing the paint? I felt the entire video needed more instructions. I would have benefited more from audible instructions. This was little more than merely watching someone paint
