There are many things about this case that CNN is not reporting about this shooting. The fact that Ahmaud Arbery was supposedly "jogging" 16 miles from his own neighborhood, across two rivers and two bridges, and multiple highways just to get to that very small neighborhood is a huge question I'd like answered. He lives less than 1 mile from a brand-new high school track, where he knows the football coach personally. A football coach who thinks the very best of him and would allow him access to that track. Not to mention that also across from his neighborhood there is a college with a very well maintained public access jogging/running track and also a well maintained cross country jogging/running trial with a beautiful view of a lake. He didn't know anyone in that neighborhood and it made no sense for him to be so far away from his home just to jog in that neighborhood. There is more than meets the eye to this whole situation.

It is sad because some people are justifying his killing because another surveillance footage shows that he went snooping in a building under construction. When my house was being built, I would drive by the construction site in the evening after work, park my car, and just go look at the progress. Should I have been nervous that people will wonder what a woman of color is doing in such a nice neighborhood looking at construction? Most times I went there, I was dressed down. But even if he had done something wrong which he didn't, what gives the right to 2 men to just execute someone in the middle of the road? He was 10 miles away from home get you are expected to believe he broke into this house just to look around? You're expected to believe that after running that far he was not covered in sweat and his clothes were not all messed up? Has anyone else ever been on a run? There are many things about this case that CNN is not reporting about this shooting. The fact that Ahmaud Arbery was supposedly "jogging" 16 miles from his own neighborhood, across two rivers and two bridges, and multiple highways just to get to that very small neighborhood is a huge question I'd like answered. He lives less than 1 mile from a brand-new high school track, where he knows the football coach personally. A football coach who thinks the very best of him and would allow him access to that track. Not to mention that also across from his neighborhood there is a college with a very well maintained public access jogging/running track and also a well maintained cross country jogging/running trial with a beautiful view of a lake. He didn't know anyone in that neighborhood and it made no sense for him to be so far away from his home just to jog in that neighborhood. There is more than meets the eye to this whole situation.

@Tom Jones Ok, I read that article. First, it mentioned that there have been no burglaries in the area. It appears the victim may have walked onto a construction site, which is not a crime. I have done the same multiple times out of curiosity. Besides, it is all irrelevant. You don't have the right to kill someone because you suspect them of burglary. You don't even have the right to use force to make a citizen's arrest. Also, you can't claim self-defense when you instigate an encounter. This was a LYNCHING.

It’s very simple, the white truck raced in front and stood post and the car was following the victim, idiotically thinking that the video would exonerate them. If I was jogging down my neighborhood and had a vehicle following me and then a white truck with a man illegally riding in the bed, then when I come upon the white truck, I would have been scared as well and would have fought. He was obviously followed.

When they confronted Arbery, Arbery attacked the man with the shotgun, punching his head and trying to TAKE HIS GUN. When someone tries to beat you and take a gun from your hands, and the suspect is a criminal, you have LITTLE choice but to shoot them as they are probably going to kill you. I agree. With his criminal history coming to light - plus a recent video of him engaging with the authorities - I think it is now clear Ahmaud Arbery wasn't a particularly conscientious individual. As a pro-gun and pro-citizen's arrest person, I'm disgusted by how these men acted and how they essentially murdered this guy. Remember, a citizen's arrest requires probable cause, pretty much just like law enforcement needs. A reasonable, articulable belief that a crime has been committed, a crime is being committed, or that a crime will be committed. Arbery was in his full right to defend himself. So were the other two, but the problem is that they started the encounter without the above requirements. There's no way these guys should end up with ANYTHING less than criminally negligent homicide. I'm not so sure this will meet the standard of intent to reach a murder conviction, but these guys have to face the music for what they've done to this poor guy and his family.
