Ms Heart, I really hope I explain this properly. I absolutely love to watch you, but I often find it difficult. Firstly, I have to be in the correct head-space...while I'm not a butterfly, I am a hoarder and watching you can be...triggering. Secondly, when I am in the correct head-space, watching you is difficult as I have to keep pausing to go and tidy/organise/clean/declutter due to your inspiration. I dearly hope you see this because you have no idea what you have done for both me and my family. What watching you has started, what watching you has caused to grow and blossom, and the love I now have for not just clean and clear spaces, but my own clean and clear spaces! A joy which has flourished under your inspiration.

you could get another pot for the currently used brushes and another for dirty eyeshadow brushes, that way, they do not make mess and leave stains by laying on the counter or rolling around. maybe you like a magnifying mirror that is mounted on the wall that can be extended toward you, a flexibel one which you can pull and push away. the less you have items on counters or surfaces, the better. have a nice day xo

Adding a small recycle can next to the garbage can in my bathroom really helped get empty packaging out quicker so it didn’t sit on the counters. This way when I am going around before trash night I can take this out as well

Yay for a stress-free session! Brainstorming: 1. Maybe handle your makeup like your clothes & swap things out seasonally? That would give you a scheduled refresh every 6 months. Plus with a rotation plan, you wouldn't as many pretties out at once so the regular 'hot spot' cleaning would be less overwhelming. It might help keep your pretties from becoming crazies. 😁 2. One of my mantras is "maximize the vertical & minimize the horizontal". That means using wall or shelf organizers for storage while floors & countertops are left mostly clear for walk-space & work-space. Maybe install couple of flexible hanging rails (just like people do in kitchens) with hooks for hanging tools & little adjustable baskets/shelves for bottles? 3. Maybe treat your bathroom a mini makeover? It wouldn't have to be as extensive as when you did your master bedroom. Examples: Some new drawer handles; faux marble contact paper on the countertop & drawer fronts; a new faucet with prettier handles; cute liner paper inside the drawers (that could be swapped out when something spills).

Thank you so much for normally this for all of us fellow hoarders (and those who don't have it and are trying to understand us). I too am a butterfly and as I am reorganizing I am starting to replace my cheap dollar tree bins - I am going strictly to clear bins (mostly acrylic, but any clear bin works) and am finding those spaces are the ones that are working with so much less work. SO glad I found your channel - I love Cas from Clutterbug and the Minimal Mom, but I needed to find you to really make those things come together for me. I found you through a collab you did with minimal mom last year (not sure of time frame) and am so glad I did. Keep up the amazing work - what you do makes a huge difference!

Excellent job clearing out! Remember that cosmetics and cosmecutials have a picture of little jar with a lid on the back with a number. If the jar says 6, the item is to be discarded after 6 months. I can't remember if you knew this, but this might be helpful for those who do not! Also, that makeup eraser! Bless! I use mine with no product as detailed, and it takes off everything! Then, I immediately wash it with soap and water (I let it soak a bit) and it comes out perfectly clean. Remember that it is important to clean it with each use to keep it free from harmful bacterial growth. Your space looks better each time you tackle it! I'd find two of your pretty crystal vases or cups for your brushes. That will clear up that tray space (rathercthan lying them down) a lot, and you can see what you have quicker! Another tip, I take all of my brushes and wash them at least every other week or so. I use a cup with shampoo or dawn, add hot water, swish and bounce them every so often as they soak. Rinse and air dry, and they stay much healthier! Keep up your hard work! I look forward to your refresh of your space! Maybe you will add some if your lovies like your My Little Ponies, unicorns, dalmations, etc. It is YOUR SPACE, so add those things that are stored away and enjoy them! And, your completely allowed to just go wild! You have decorated the shelves nicely, but adding those things will thing you added joy! Blessings as you continue your joirney!

I always try to remind myself that life is full of cycles. During summer you probably want certain things out--stuff to make cold drinks, supplies for lemonade, etc, and then in winter you probably want stuff out for cold drinks--and I accept that kind of cycle as part of life. So every week I try to like, just remove a layer--i don't expect things to be perfect, but I set the goal of doing *something*. My family has the same issues so I find myself cleaning out the fridge for them and taking out the trash regularly because I don't want things to get worse--but I'm still working with them. Doing things myself is far easier, so convincing them has been a process. I do find it helps them that if I say, clean out part of the laundry room, they'll often be inspired to do the rest of it, especially if the rest is their stuff. Any forward progress is better than none. I have also offered to take things to the thrift store to them to discourage them from putting things in a box and then procrastinating the errand, or "saving it for a yard sale". My dad also recently purchased a smaller house, but I don't know how he expects to sell this house when it's still pretty hoarded with stuff, and they'll likely need to get rid of 75% of things to make it comfortable to live at the new place. Right now he's seriously thinking about keeping part of the property(2 warehouses that are 100% full of stuff) and selling the house right next to them, assuming someone will pay 250k for a private drive with a junkyard next to a home.... It's hard. I struggle with interacting with my family because I have clutterbug tendencies, but I have also worked hard for the past 5-6 years to get more in the practice of getting rid of things I am just not using, and not acquiring new stuff unless I actually need it. My family feels unwilling to change their ways and get spending and stuff under control, but I want to keep trying, because they deserve to be in a space without expired food or trash, you know?

I love following your journey! I used do do professional organizing and your progress is just astounding! I love listening to how you talk yourself through things, which we all do when we're decluttering. I think you make such good points about feeling safe. I think that's a big one, to one degree or another, for most people. It might be voiced as, "I'll need this some day" or "when I lose weight I'll wear this", but in the end it comes down to a fear of not having enough. Thank you so much for bringing us along, and as a runner, I wish you nothing but a good tailwind and downhill slope! ❤

Hi! I am a bee, super visual, just like you as a butterfly. One thing that has really helped me is using the shelves to put my everyday stuff, mixed with the decor! I think my stuff is beautiful (and when it isn't, I put it in a nice recipient, hahaha), maybe you could consider taking some things out of the drawers and countertop and putting them in the shelves you already have, along with the updated decor you are planning! It may be easier to keep up with if you designate the counter for skin care and makeup only. The crystals could be moved to the shelf with other items for decoration. Seriously though it’s not bad that it took a year to become untidy. It’s a dynamic space that is used daily. Even those who do not identify as hoarders have spaces that become cluttered within a few months.

I've been watching some of your videos because I need to do some decluttering in my home that I've been living in for over 20 years. I am a single mother of two teenage boys and have been a high school teacher for 30 years. I put in so many hours a week as a teacher that I just haven't had the time and energy to do what I know I need to do. Your videos give me hope that I can get to where I need to be in time. I definitely feel overwhelmed but have to accept that it's going to take a long time and that I'll have to be happy with doing a little at a time. I'll need to get past my perfectionism, which results in avoidance. I have a question for you. Do you think that your shopping and spending is part of the problem? I feel that spending is part of my issue. Are you doing anything to keep yourself from buying, buying, and buying? From the videos I've seen, it seems like you purchase a lot of craft items and makeup. I purchase a lot of clothing. I probably don't need to buy any additional clothing for the rest of my life. Do you have any suggestions for putting a stop to consumerism and spending for people like us? It's a big problem. We don't need to purchase most of the things that we do and without addressing the problem the hoarding isn't going to get any better. Just decluttering and throwing things out doesn't get to the root of the problem, we will buy and hoard once again. It's wasteful and terrible for the environment. I was just wondering what your thoughts are on this topic of the underlying problem of overspending/overpurchasing and consumerism.

I think it's important to realize also, that you may need to spend some money on organizational tools. That's important for me, I didn't want to spend money on things like that for some reason, but I didn't mind my 50 ink pens. LOL. So I started purchasing tools for organization such as a pretty spinning pen holder that could hold my office supplies and my pens. I now throw away pens as soon as they go dry or even if they just start giving me trouble writing. I'm also in a rental situation and at my age I have gained a lot of stuff from family and my own stuff that I refuse to let go of. So when I get my own place later this year it will be much less.
