Three of us live in a 2BR condo. My daughter moved back after 20 years away. She has ADHD. She got rid of 75 (yes 75) boxes of old toys, craft supplies, and more. It took time. She is in our guest room. Her books, DVD's, photos, etc. are in bookcases. Craft items are in her closet. Sorting is very hard and will always be hard. But look how far you've come. Tina

If you have no plans to get that third bathroom in working order, it'd be great to transform it into a legit closet. Take out hand towels, etc. Scrub it down. Put a table or some kind of shelving over the toilet so you don't have to look at it/nothing is stored on it. Add a bookshelf if there's room. Great place to keep gifts in an organized way. Cards, wrapping, gift bags. I'm afraid you're going to forget about those fidget gifts in the plastic bag. But in a labeled box, you're much more likely to get them out and wrap them at the right time. Awesome work in the laundry room!!

Great job! I think you should give yourself a craft area in the basement. That way if you have a project that takes some time you can leave out supplies if you need to leave to take boys somewhere, etc. and you aren’t at the kitchen table tossing it aside when dinner comes.

You are exactly right, I would LOVE a craft area in the basement!! But I feel that is further in the future bc we have to Declutter the whole basement and get it fixed (there are water leaks). I kinda want it organized now in a section so I can continue to craft this year...and then when the basement is done, we can transfer everything down there!! Maybe I’m being impatient but I’ve been wanting to organize the crafts since last year!! Lol Thank you so much for being such a great friend!!!

@@ahoardersheart If you have the energy to do it then go with that! It means you're ready :) Organizing isn't a one-and-done process anyway, so even if you organize crafts in the laundry room THIS year, you can always change your setup NEXT year. So if you do finish the basement say, next year, you can decide to re-organize crafts in the basement next year! I move stuff around in my house every 6-12 months because I like to try new organizing methods or my space needs have changed. But I could tell you were excited to dig into crafts so follow that energy!

I’m a hoarder too. My mother is a hoarder and my sister is hoarder. I used to have an organized home to the best of my ability but I had a huge attic room where I kept all my itmes. Once I got everything organized, I had to give up that space. Everything had to be stored in a small room. I got rid of a lot of items. Then I gave my office/closet room to my daughter for her cosmetology classroom. All those items had to be moved to the laundry room or the outside storage room. Now the laundry room is mess. The hallway is cluttered. I’m making it my goal to work on the laundry room and back storage room from now until the end of this year. I’m going to take before pictures and use your videos as motivation to keep me from getting overwhelmed. Thank you for sharing your jouney.

You go, girl! A limited craft storage area in the laundry sounds like a good temporary solution until you can have a dedicated area in the basement. Please be aware of your ultimate crafting goal, though: a well-organized dedicated crafting area where ALL of your supplies will be. Even in seasons where the basement is uncomfortable to work in or you just prefer taking your crafting into the sun, you should reach a point where because it is all in one area and logically-to-you organized, you can quickly grab what you want to use for your current craft and bring it to your preferred crafting location, whether that be your crafting table in the basement, your kitchen table with the boys, or your lovely yard. Whether it makes more sense for the ultimate storage to be in the laundry room or the basement, will be up to you, although once the basement is cleared there will certainly be a lot more space there (there is already loads more than when you started!) 💜

I agree with the wisdom of this comment. I am an artist professionally but a playful crafter in my off time. I love having a really big and empty table that is a social and cheerful place in the heart of family action and also a secluded place for quite work. I work daily to keep these areas clear so that they are ready for when i want to get creative. I guard them as sacred spaces. Having little portable kits of all my different materials that I can shop from and bring to one of my two spaces is my favorite. It’s taken a lot of time to get to this place where I have organized portable kits. But we’ll worth it. Like you, I have a playful creative kid in me. I have to make the experience fun for that kid. So I shop and set up for my project and set it up in one of the two clean creative spaces. After I am done, I take off my kid hat and let my grownup self put the kits back and clear the work spaces so it will be fun for my inner kid to rediscover during my next creative play/work session, be it with family or by myself.🥰 It is the best now that I learned to take turns between my kid and grownup selves. I really enjoy your channel so much and look forward to your posts!💕🥰🦊🌸💚

Fantastic job! You could add a pretty tablecloth(s), sheet, extra fabric over the shelves to hide ... not a mess! .... but to make the room look more defined. Also, I don't remember if you filled the black shelves, but they seem like they would be nice for holding gifts in bins. And/or your crafts! I use a suitcase for my gifts. It's great, bc I can roll it out to where I cam see what I want to pick out. Then I just roll it back where it is stored. My Mama laughed a couple of weeks ago when she saw me open it. It needs to be restocked, but she just laughed bc I've been packing my gifts in that same suitcase since, oh, undergrad! I graduated in 1994! Lol. This looks so neat and clean. I too, have to go th through my washroom to the back yard so I try to keep it clean. It's about half the space of yours and has the washer, dryer, and a huge hot water heater. So, I put shelves over the w/d, and hung a curtain across the front. All of my tools are over the dryer and cleaning supplies over the washer. It is organized almost perfectly, but it looks best covered. I hung a piece of art on the wall behind the door, and it makes the room look a little prettier. Ready for all of your projects to come! You're the bomb!

I’m learning so much about me having adhd in my adulthood and I love that I’m not the only one with reusable bags of paper. One of things for adhd is forming those habits/routine structures, so for me I try to have self care Saturday’s to clean the house with the fam & just catch up to put stuff away and avoid overflow. Some weeks are less than others but it helps to not do major decluttering just maintenance like laundry, put away random boxes and trash from my car and rooms away. Anyways, long ramble but as always cheering you on girl! Dang! Was not expecting both sides of the room in one episode! Come a long way from your first video and holding a piece of paper-so proud of your work!

I love your videos, you have come such a long way over the years!! Look how fast you can declutter now, you are such an inspiration to me. I think it'd be a good idea for you to have a gift bin somewhere in the laundry room or bathroom for quick access since thats where these items seem to be ending up. Then it will become a habit to put gifts there and go looking for them when you need them. One suggestion, can you put the cube shelf vertical as opposed to horizontal? Well done miss heart 👏👏👏 maybe if you write a list of what you want for that room as a visual cue to read like a checklist eg like is the sink clean? is the shelving tidy?, is this area tidy? So that you don’t have to be overthinking what needs to be done, have your mind racing or become overwhelmed with what needs to be done... it’s also evident that you need a designated craft area / room because we can see the joy you get from crafting. Ps I love the sunflower art you hung on the door 😃

Looks nice. It is hard not to just move things from place to place. It improves as you have less and everything has a " home ". Have a very Happy Mother's Day !

I am really missing your basement declutter. They are my favorite. Do you have any plans for more videos on that or are you taking a break from the basement this year? You are doing an amazing job! Have a beautiful day! :)
