The one which gpt where she’s getting GPT to write a bunch before asking it what she wants - it’s actually got merit. Not sure if she knows what it’s doing, but it’s helping activate latent space in the model, which helps with generating a better response for other related topics (related being SEO). Similar to how your boss asks you to brainstorm ideas for X, and you draw a blank. But after they give you some ideas, your creativity starts flowing and you’re pumping out ideas for said X. I’ve done exactly this for SEO before (I’m just a lame dev). I’ll ask about strategies, feed it information about the topic/site so it can prime itself on what’s needed, and then finally get it to write what I actually need.

Thanks, appreciate the info. What I didn't/still don't understand is why none of that information was used to shape the post. Instead, the topic was changed. Wouldn't it make more sense to actually use that information to establish context/expectations - similar to how system roles work? I just don't see the value of trying to set context only to ignore it. Also, I believe ChatGPT 3.5 had a hard time using previous messages for future responses at the time their video was posted. -Sam

@@AhrefsCom yeah that would make more sense. Get it to brainstorm ideas and techniques on what you’re doing, and then after a couple of back-and-forths, get it to implement what was discussed. If you’re interested, search for ‘Dave Shapiro LLM latent space activation’. You should come across the basis of this. Also yes, I find gpt3.5 doesn’t perform as well for following instructions and maintaining context.
