Think Story I absolutely loved the season oh my God! I am praying there is a sequel. After all they did end the finale with the possibility leaving everyone thinking there is going to be a sequel to Apocalypse. With that said I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Rohas it would have made no sense. Madison was dead and Behold wasn’t ever introduced. They should’ve completely reformatted the story and made Venable Sarah’s main character this season. Relying less on the witches. More on Apocalypse. Have a chronological story. Kept the bunker characters. More Jessica Lange. Less Mutt and whatever his name is. Still have a core story. In seasons 1-5, I felt VERY Unique tones and characters. The vibes of every season were different but retained the same Cinematic feel. Season 6 was just straight trash. No production quality. The cinematography was HORRIBLE. Even though it was a found footage piece. They lost the BEST Cinematographer. This is the downhill spiral of AHS. Season 7 was a mess but felt like AMERICAN CRIME STORY. Not AHS. AND THIS SEASON WAS THE BEST SINCE FREAKSHOW, AS FAR AS STORY TELLING GOES. BUT IT WAS CROWDED. SO I’m waiting for the production quality to go up again. Like since Roanoke i feel it’s been lacking.

I'm disappointed we didn't get any major battles with the witches using their powers. Fighting the mutants/undead/hell demons. That kind of thing. The final battle with Micheal was underwhelming. I did love the season though. The Witches are my favourite AHS characters.

They showed a lot of Michael's humanity and I think it's that humanity that made him a terrible anti-christ. You would think an anti-christ could end the world with abilities and powers alone. But Micheal needed so much help to create the Apocalypse that happened.

I think your idea for the apocalypse story being full on with doomsday prepares, fallout, and that stuff would have been really cool. They should have just let this season be twisted and all about the apocalypse and give the witches their own spin-off series(because I do love the witches).Instead, we got a season that desperately tries to smash in all of these crossovers for the sake of it, and they don’t do the apocalypse or the witches justice.

You can't begin with episode 6, you just can't. It would be WAY too confusing. I'm currently watching it in chronological order and the best way is : - Start at the theme song from episode 4 and continue untill the last episode untill they cut to present day, then watch episodes 1-3, go back to the rest of the finale (episode 10). So essentially : - ep 4 untill 10, part 1 - ep 1-3 - 10, part 2

The writers created a glaring and huge mistake with the overall series. How can the end of Hotel take place in 2022 if the bombs were dropped in 2018? We know we're not in the new timeline because Queenie went to and died at the Cortez which forces us into the old timeline. Oops!

Queenie wouldn't be there in the last episode in the old timeline either. She was removed from the Hotel by Michael 2016ish. For things to reconcile, the last episode of hotel would have to take place in a different timeline which I find unlikely.

They did do the hellfire apocalypse it's just the apocalypse kicked off from atomic bombs. Did you not hear Michael say "the seventh seal has already been broken and the eternal pit is opened to reign in my father's army"? Even if the witches could kill Michael the world was far too gone at that point to save it. Theoretically if they did the fan service the next season would have to take place in the past AGAIN, be an apocalypse 2.0 which basically destroys the whole point of AHS, or be a predictable bs mess of Angles vs Demons that book and movie lovers had an whole era of.

So basically the real changes in each season were: -Murder House: Michael Langdon started killing animals and then people, one day he suddenly grew up 15 years and short time after that, he was run over and murdered in front of the Murder House by a time traveler Mallory, who came from a future where he provoqued Apocalypse. Constance continues her life alone. -Coven: The time traveler Mallory went to meet Cordelia to form part of the Coven in New Orleans. There, she helps to bring back Misty from hell. Probably in the future she also rescues Madison from hell and Coco appears in the Coven. -Hotel: Mallory prevents Queenie for staying at Hotel Cortez, so the part where Ramona murdered her in episode 11 from Hotel never really happened. The last episode of the season that happens during a party in 2026, really happened, as we have discovered that it happens in this new reality, where Queenie has never been there. -Apocalypse: All the members of the Satan Church, the Cooperative (Iluminatis), the robotics corporation of Mutt and Jeff (including Venable) and the Hawthorne School, are still alive. Pretty interesting panorama for any possible continuation for any of this seasons.

this doesn't salvage the story, it was a mess. I also would have liked them to just tell an apocalypse story, it's not an instinct of a 'twisted mind', but a normal instinct towards a good, cohesive, original story. we were effectively cheated out of a good story - the beginning with the end of the world, the bunker, the sanctuary, it was all very interesting and fun. the season then completely unraveled itself, drowned in plotholes and, in an ultimate concession to how impossible it was to end the plot satisfyingly, literally retroactively made the whole season un-happen in the last episode

@@cupcakkestans Personally I didn't have any trouble following the twists in the story but I did feel 10 episodes wasn't enough. We had all these flashback episodes that I thought were leading up to the end of the story but they didn't. It's like they had to do something quick for the finale because they lost track of time sitting around telling stories about the good old days with each other. That Adam & Eve thing was like, what? They totally didn't need to be in the show at all since they didn't deal with them during the show.

It's not the wonky chronology that bothers me--I'm a seasoned SFF consumer. What bother me, as a fan and as a writer, is how the writers here set up some really interesting characterizations, story beats, and moments, but didn't pay off any of them. They set up Michael as being just as human as he was demon--and it wasn't paid off. They set up Mallory as having to be something akin to him in order to beat him--and it wasn't paid off. Hell, even COCO had unresolved character stuff; her power was set up as something that could have grown and been *really useful* but she was just using it in a way that made sense to her. AAAAAAND it wasn't paid off. The ending was rushed, lazy, and left far too many dangling threads. This makes season 8 one of the weaker seasons all around.

in the last episode, when Micheal is holding the voodoo queen's heart in his hand and Coco just stares at it, I was literally convinced that they were gonna have her magically guess the calorie content of the heart. that's how little faith I had in the writers at that point

Hoping this makes any sense, time travel really lead to a lot of paradox depending on what set of rules a fictional work may want to follow. I assumed we just have one. The future 2020 timeline merged/fell into the 2015 timeline, because at the end the Mallory we saw has memories of the 2020 Mallory meanwhile she just joined the Coven in 2015 and wasn't pulled back into her timeline which would've been the case if the act of changing time doesn't cause a split in the timeline. Thus only one supreme, if there were two supremes then that would mean that 2020 Apocalypse timeline would still be on going and that timeline of the world still ended in hellfire and Mallory simply created a new timeline when she went back and killed Michael before he ascended.

I honestly really enjoyed this season I’m not sure why fans are looking for alternative endings when from a production standpoint could’ve been way too complicated and the writers would’ve had to write another four more seasons for things not too fall apart while trying to get to the final battle. I’d day bravo 👏 to the entire season . I enjoyed it and would watch it again if I have the time 🤗

Started rewatching the whole series, some days ago and just watched season 2 episode 6 and there is a girl that gives me the antichrist vibes. At one point she is just casually talking deep stuff with the devil. Also on the same episode Doctor Arden is telling the priest guy about his experiments to create humans who are more immune to diseases & who could survive the Russian Nuclear bombs and stuff. :O It's almost like they have planned the Apocalypse from the beginning. :O

This is SO well explained! I've been rewatching all the old seasons since I missed 'Cult' and it'd been awhile since seeing some of my favourite seasons ['Asylum' still stands as my personal favourite] and was about to rewatch 'Apocalypse' and while I was one of the few who enjoyed the slower story with flashbacks and the way they aired it.. this would be the only way for someone completely new to the AHS world to really understand the season.

I agree! I can't accept that ending where the witches won by deus ex machinae. So lazy..and for me it's not imaginable that witches who use dark magic can win versus the prince of hell. I liked that season until episode 5, then after it's just for Coven fans. I don't like Coven, i don't understand why some people found the witches so powerfull, it was like a disney channel horror movie for 12 years old girls, only the voodoo part was good (minotaurus 👍). And the punchline "you may be a witche but i am a ghost" from Hostel doesn't exist anymore 😢 Season 2 still the best for me!

Here are my hopes for future episodes: 1) AHS Hospital- Anyone that enters, never gets out (souls are damned in the hospital) 2) AHS dantes inferno- a group of characters go down the 9 circles of hell and each episode, they discover a new character or their truth and someone dies. In each episode, someone dies until the final episode where one survives but is damned in hell for eternity and each episode is a circle of hell. 3)AHS prostitution

They show you in timeline what's going to happen. In cult you see the media and secret group creating false narrative to create division, then there's apocalypse - the war and finally 1984 - the new world order. Of course the last season is about serial killers but the title is the hint. So this year or next year after mass civil unrest war will come and then the new world order will be created.

You make a good point in that it’s kind of in the eye of the beholder like what you wanted the main topic of the season to be...did you want to see more of coven, more of murder house, more of satanism, or more of the actual apocalypse. For me I was intrigued by the outpost and wanted to see more of that, the actual apocalypse, the world we are left with, what satans plans are, and if god would put up a fight and how.

I love it! The timeline does makes more sense this way. And I have been referring to the season as "Coven Reunion". I would have loved to have seen more of Joan Collins's Bubbles and of course Angela Bassett as Marie. I hope they find a way bring back the Coven witches again...perhaps they will explore Demons which will provide a connection to the witches. Speaking of Demons, I'm currently watching "A Discovery of Witches" which is a BBC show about the war between Witches, Vampires and Demons. It is not as campy as AHS, but it is definitely dark and serious.

Help. Myrtle was already back before there was ever even a fucking HINT that the antichrist existed. But in 8x07, it’s not *explicitly* given as the reason but is implied that Cordelia brought Myrtle back because she already knew Michael and who he was. Watching apocalypse again since it’s on Netflix and I just need this to be validated by someone else lmao I’m fucking confused and I haven’t seen anyone else comment on this anywhere!!

*(SPOILERS)* In the End they don't change time, they create an alternate timeline. In reality Michael wins on taking over the Earth and succeeds at killing all of the Witches. Mallory simply creates an alternate timeline in which ends up (from what it seems) repeating itself. Guess it's something in that DNA!

Loved the old characters and some new characters like Mallory and coco this season was more like fan service to me, the plot was extremely boring and all over the place, Miachel langdons character was extremely rushed and uninteresting and also overpowered, I would’ve rather have them show us Cordelia kicking ass. Overall an underwhelming season.

i know that everyone is unsatisfied with the anticlimatic ending episode 10 gave, i personally think that it is a good way to wrap up the whole season. I mean , if mallory turns out to be an angel and have a battle with michael langdon, the season would be a complete fan service as it already is ; Witches can't battle michael even with unison because Michael was already powerful that he can snap a head easily but fans keep requesting a big battle royale between the witches & michael langdon they also still cant move on and unsatisfied about the ending.

The 8x04-8x10 flashbacks take place in 2015-2018. The Apocalypse happens in April 2020. The Bunker storyline happens in 2021, as well as the witches vs Michael finale.

People keep commenting how the events this season messes up the events of Hotel. In Hotel, Liz and Iris would've "found another human off the street" to kill to let Ramona drink the blood. Also, John ended up killing the countess anyway. Not Ramona. So Hotel's plot is not really effected. It would've had the same outcome whether Queenie came or not.

I feel let down that the children of Kit, Alma, and Grace didn't come back into play to help the witches. You'd think Michael would've had an interest in Dr. Arden's work. It's not as if Satan didn't know about the monsters. He clearly thought a child born to Kit and Grace would be a threat because he arranged for their sterilization. And wouldn't it have been cool if the girl Sister Mary Satan was tutoring was Mrs. Meade? The endless repeating loop of the same song could've come into play as a memory from Briarcliff. There was so much material from Asylum that could've come into play.
