Wow! When I was in Austin High ('65-'67 - a midterm student), we had a single barbell with 135 lbs. of weights, and it was on a mat at the end of the gym. The only A/C was in the library or the principal's office. We had classes in trailers out back even then. This is awesome. It looks like a great remodel. Thank you HISD for taking care of our school.

@@rodneyhromas3908 oh no offense at all. There were so many of us. Just know that you were an amazing teacher. I have always had so much respect for those teachers who stuck by us kids from the East End. I host a television show in Houston now on Mundo Latino TV and I have a segment on another show that’s on Telemundo Houston. We were Latino kids many of us were never shown what a college application looked like. But there were those warrior teachers like yourself who stuck by us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
