I love were seeing a Mandalorian become a Jedi with Sabine and a Jedi becoming a Mandalorian with Grogu. That's very George Lucas, and has Dave Filoni written all over it. I think Hyuang is so hard on Sabine in this show because he sees potential in her. I mean he's been around for over 25K years helping Jedi. I can't help but think he would know potential when he sees it.
@madelinegarber786011 ай бұрын
Oh totally agreed. And I noticed the opposite paths thing too. I hope she and Grogu meet at some point. I’ve been saying for years that I need her and Din to meet and interact. I’m gonna die when it finally happens. I feel like they’re either gonna drive each other crazy or be besties. She and Grogu are gonna love each other. I’d also love a scene with her, Din, Grogu and Bo all talking.
@madelinegarber786011 ай бұрын
I love what you said about Ahsoka’s past and how that connects to her caution first with Sabine then with Hrogu then Sabine again. But one thing I love about this show is seeing how Ahsoka’s evolved and started to change her outlook sinve meeting Din and Grogu. She takes a much more progressive approach with Sabine and her training than I thought she would. That’s something I was a bit worried about when I started this show. You get to see more of that in the next couple episodes. I feel like it’d be so much fun to see Ahsoka, Sabine, Din, and Grogu talk. That’d be a fascinating conversation.

There’s a lot of ways that I think Baylan is such a unique Star Wars antagonist (I don’t think “villain” is the right word) including that he doesn’t actively want to fight any remaining Jedi if he can help it. Such an interesting character and even though Ray Stevenson isn’t with us anymore I hope Lucasfilm finds a respectful way(s)to at least explore the character’s background (Tales of the Jedi episodes, a Timothy Zahn novel, etc.)

I wondered if you would make the connection when Sabine cut her hair. She made a ritual out of it almost exactly like someone from Rebels did, before a momentous event. I swear it was the exact same kind of, if not the same knife. The interplay between Hera and Chopper had me rolling the first time I heard and its still one of my favorite moments of the show. "Did you go through my stuff?" "No, I didn't go through your stuff." "Yes you did!"
@TheTurfDunedain11 ай бұрын
I was so excited to see the Rebels prologue show up in live action at the end of this episode. When the Rebels ended, Filoni wouldn't say where the scene was in the timeline. It's so fantastic to see his vision slowly unfolding in front of us with scenes like this. I can't wait to see all the other things he hid in the shows that will show up going forward. I don't know if you've heard the Filoni reference Ahsoka being like Gandalf from LOTR for Star Wars, but he really wasn't kidding and we are watching it happen. The Rebels are the Fellowship and Ahsoka is their guide.

Maybe Sabine wouldn't have taken the map if Ahsoka had actually told her the reason she wasn't allowed to take the map: dangerous people are after it.
@walterwhitejr.44511 ай бұрын
I'd be hard-pressed to name any animated show that carried over to live-action so perfectly - the casting, the writing, all are superb. It really feels like a seamless continuation of Rebels. As much as this is about Ahsoka, I find Hera and Sabine more compelling characters (I've always loved Sabine, my favorite Rebels character from the get-go.) Then again, Hera is pretty much a "Rogue Squadron" type of character, and that's always been my favorite since Star Wars: A New Hope - as a kid, I wanted an X-Wing, not a lightsaber. Hera's one of my tribe.

Of all the recastings of pre-existing TCW/Rebels characters, none nailed their role better than Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the sassy mum energy is strong!
@bigfatcarp9311 ай бұрын
Wow, kinda the opposite for me, she's sorta the only one that doesn't really seem to fit. Hera has such a warm, wise tone to her in Rebels, and speaks at kind of a slow pace, but Winstead speaks at such a fast clip and comes off relatively much less open. Maybe it's just been too long since you've seen Rebels.
@greenfalcon1111 ай бұрын
While I agree M.E.W. isn't playing Hera as a direct imitation of the animated character, I'm not sure anyone could really pull that off. Hera is one of the toughest characters to make the transition to live action. Who but the original voice actress could come close? I think M.E.W. has done a nice job of creating a version of Hera in live action. She works her "Mom-ness" subtly wherever it's needed and she portrays her pilot side well so far. That said, I was already a fan of Mary, as far back as Lucy McClane in Live Free Or Die Hard, so maybe I'm biased in her favor. Btw, Lucy McClane IS Hera, by the end of that movie!

Ahsoka knows what it is like to have a headstrong Padawan, just like Obi-Wan and Anakin. When I first watched this episode, I thought Chopper was going to score a body count with the transport. "Chopper's gonna chop" after all. So far, the New Republic already looks like a failed state. The title for this episode is a homage to MacBeth.
