Credit to Genevieve for being able to capture the trauma of just hearing Thrawn's name. Your reaction to Xiono was absolutely hilarious.

She definitely is one of the best,, and I've watched them all on youtube through every episode.. kind of a hobby of mine, a few hundred different channels even some people that only have like 120 subscribers.. mainly Star Wars, and marvel things.. there are a bunch of good ones. The women seem to react better until the next few episodes of course everybody goes nuts.. can't wait to see what she is going to do..

Oh, she does indeed! To see how Jess has grown to love this characters and the patient she had to go all the way through Rebels unspoiled of Ahsoka it worths every second of the weekly await to the next episode and TBH it's like watching it all over again on the release but with a Bestie who is just all up for droid sass as we do.

Jess concerning Sabine’s training strategy: “I feel like at that point, she was like, “I’m just going to swing and maybe I’ll hit something.” That’d be my strategy.” Me: That would be good, me I’d go with the thought process, “I’ll try spinning; that’s a good trick.” Tis an oldie but a goodie.

I love the explanation of the force this episode and how someone like Sabine could learn to use it despite her low force potential. I’m still not totally sold on her becoming a jedi, but the show does a pretty good job at making her work for it and building on the clues that were left for us in Rebels. Also Ahsoka: cuts a ship in half. Anakin’s force ghost: I could’ve cut it in 3rds.

I love the sass levels of this show are off the charts. Now we have to make new charts. Huyang isn't wrong about that non tradional Jedi lineage that Ahsoka is a part of. Since unbroken that line goes Yoda, to Dooku to Qui-Gon to Obi-Wan to Anakin to Ahsoka. This episode aside from the action was setting things up for the future
@djco57828 ай бұрын

Loved It! Hyunag: You do come from a long line of Non Traditional Jedi. Jess: Well... All of Us: Sabine Wren - Ahsoka Tano - Anakin Skywalker - Obi-Wan Kenobi - Qui-Gon Jinn - Count Dooku - Yoda... and Mortis knows who the carabast Yoda was Padawan of... So YES.... and makes me wonder what's a TRaditional Jedi? Ezra Bridger? Kenan Jarrus/Caleb Dume? Mace Windu? Cal Kestis? Cere? Cordova? Depa Billaba? Ari? Eek? Jaro Tapal? Luke Skywalker? Kit Fisto? Shaak Ti? Assajj Ventres? Quinlan Vos? Yaddle? What's a Traditional Jedi? and I think that's precisely where Ahsoka, and Filloni by all means, wanted to land with that comment... I mean Luke started a New Jedi Order and we al know how that went... And She's Not Jedi

4:32 - I love how this scene takes a much needed backstep in lore. Prior to the Prequel movies, it was generally understood that anyone could become a Jedi with the right training, and it inspired the fantasies of the first generation of fans. Then the Prequels came and fantasies were dashed with the revelation that one had to have mitichlorians in the bloodstream to connect to the Force. Here, Filoni rebalances the Force, as it were, showing that even those with little connection to the Force can be trained, even if it is a harder path.

Midichlorians don't produce force ability, they are merely a way to measure it
@timmooney75288 ай бұрын
A good thing about this series is Dave Filoni took using the Force back to it's roots along the lines of how Obi Wan explained it in A New Hope. The Force flows through every living thing. In the prequels it was sort of locked down - you're either Force sensitive, or you're not. Early on in this series I was curious as to why Ahsoka was attempting to train Sabine, who shows no signs of Force sensitivity. The only reason I figured she was training Sabine is because she was able to handle the dark saber with some coaching from Jarrus.
@willfanofmanyii37518 ай бұрын
Kanan already confirmed Sabine had the potential. Besides, the Prequels didn't lock it down, just reminded everyone that while the Force exists in everyone, not everyone has the potential to connect with it.

"The arsehole guy" is the father of Kazuda Xiono from Star Wars Resistance - and I think you pegged him well, that's just his personality! Props to Genevieve in this scene, being able to say so much in this scene as Mothma with only her face. Unfortunately as much as we love Hera's sass rant at Xiono, you can see Mothma both believes Hera but knows she lost them politically the moment she got emotional. The line "non traditional Jedi" always gets me as comedically understated: Yoda, Dooku, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Ashoka, and now Sabine, is definitely a long line of heavy hitting "non-tradational" Jedi 😆 As always, loved your reaction to this amazing show and will see you for the next one.

I'm writing this as carefully as I can to avoid spoilers. The Senator Xiono is the father of Kaz in the Resistance animated show (and he's just as much a jackhole there as well)

Just a nice non-spoiler thing: the annoying senator is the father of Kazuda Xiono, the pilot featuring in the two season animation series "Star Wars: Resistance" that plays around "The Force Awakens" and "The Last Jedi". That series doesn't have a huge fan base, but I really enjoyed each of the two seasons, and enjoyed it more than the films it was supposed to connect.

There’s clear differences but the Eye of Sion’s shape and role as a means to help a big ship travel outside of the Galaxy made me think back to a big part of Thrawn’s backstory in the original books about him, Outbound Flight. Outbound Flight was a Jedi-led expedition to explore life outside the Galaxy. Unfortunately Thrawn (pre-Empire) was contacted by Palpatine’s agents and convinced the expedition would threaten Thrawn’s people by accidentally stumbling upon an enemy race that would see it as an attack and retaliate against Thrawn’s people and then the Galaxy. So Thrawn ultimately launched an attack that destroyed Outbound Flight to Palpatine’s delight (less Jedi to deal with, delay in invasive species attacking the Galaxy before Palpatine was ready and he found a potential ally in Thrawn). So even if it’s not Outbound Flight per se, I like how the show made a similar massive ring shaped ship meant to ferry people between galaxies and have it be a vital part of Thrawn’s return.

How would you all handle dealing with the New Republic senators if you were in Hera's position? You only know what Hera knows and not what you as fan would know.
@darthroden8 ай бұрын
Those Senators (with the exception of Mon Mothma) are all complacent idiots. They are too busy reveling in the "peace" they have given no thought to how that peace came about and the cost of it. As far as they are concerned the Empire is dead and the problem doesn't exist. They just don't want to hear anything that's going to challenge that fat and happy existence. None of them are prepared for someone like Thrawn suddenly returning and uniting the Imperial remnants.

Training Sabine his indeed be jumping to the deep, not as Ashoka trained to be a soldier and a jedi a midst a war. But, ashoka's way of teaching also differes from the jedi as she don't see her self as a full part of the jedi order and I loveddd that they explored and explained how Sabine is training in the ways of the force if we almost didn't see any capabilities from her during Rebels. The first two episodes were great in setting the show. But this is were the fun begins and sass🤩
