Love the nostalgic nod to Anthony Daniels and his character. What an honor to be a part of Star Wars for so many years. The reunion between Ahsoka and Ezra... heartwarming... seeing as the last time they saw and spoke to one another was in the World Between Worlds as they ran from Darth Sidious... callback to Rebels Season 4 episode 13 that aired February 26, 2018. Good God... Thrawn is so calculating and silent menacing! So happy the whales didn't end up sacrificing anyone and basically went "Here's a stop.... DEUCES " I've only seen short bursts of the animated REBELS... but Eman is really giving a really nice Ezra~! (Add to that that he's a cutie...) I am excited how this will all be capped next episode... I am not expecting too much, but I am expecting it to be a cliffhanger.

This episode is showing audiences who never saw Rebels why Thrawn is truly one of the greatest and most formidable villains in Star Wars history! This man never sweats, and learns as much from his defeats as his victories. And in the canon book Thrawn: Alliances we learned that he also fought and served alongside Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars AND when he became Darth Vader, he even managed to deduce that they were the same person, even though Thrawn never had any actual evidence, while neither Vader NOR The Emperor could read his mind with the Force!

Loved the sequence of Ezra using the Force to hold back Shin's lightsaber attacks. Guess if we are counting power levels Sabine is a (struggling) Jedi Padawan, Ezra is already a Knight and Ahsoka is clearly a Master. 🙂 Also guess Baylan is the one who will stay behind to look for whatever the Zeffo (?) left behind on Peridea. And everything is going according to Thrawn's plan, to keep the heroes away from his barely holding together ship while they load whatever is inside those containers so they can leave.

The lighting in this episode was fantastic. Especially the violet tone when Ahsoka and Huyang were talking in the cockpit before hitting that minefield. The special effects especially when the purgills went to hyper speed was really well done. This may not be a popular opinion being how much we love to bash the Sequel Trilogy and Disney. But I think Star Wars has never looked better than how they look right now. So many beautiful scenes and great art design.

I like to think if Ahsoka did not burn her hand trying to grab that map in episode 4 and if she was not distracted by Sabine showing up and not destroying the map when Ahsoka told her to, Ahsoka could've still won that previous fight with Baylon or at least stood her ground. She was also backed up to the edge of that cliff and she did not have or use both her lightsabers in that fight. So, she had multiple disadvantages. Here, in this episode, she had both her lightsabers and they were fighting on flat ground with no cliff edge. I still am a bit suspicious of Ezra. Sabine may not be telling him everything, but Ezra also seems pretty quiet too and I suspect something is not right with him either. I do wish we got to see Sabine fighting while wearing her helmet and using her jetpack.

They could have made Leia work if R2-D2 came with C-3PO and he delivered Leia's message via hologram. Have Billie Lourd as Leia with a bit of CGI work on the face and have R2 project a hologram. The hologram would have helped sort out the uncanny valley problem with the CGI seen in Rogue One too. C-3PO could still deliver the data disk. They made a digital Leia for Rogue One, they could do it again, as long as her family said it was ok of course.

It was definitely a strong episode. I say my 2nd or 3rd favorite episode so far. My only complaints are it was only 42 minutes and it didn't give us the answers from Baylan's calling. Senator Xiono keeps taking Ls! He's up to something or is working with someone evil. Threepio was a nice cameo and he's never been most people's favorite droid. Same with the Hayden recorded hologram cameo. But I think the strongest character in this episode was definitely Thrawn. We're seeing how he plays chess. My favorite Thrawn reaction wasn't about Anakin but seeing how Baylan is going astray. Anakin is dead. It's Baylan who is making things complicated. I think Thrawn's strategy of just getting the hell outta there while he watches the good guys or gals wastes time needs to be emphasized. I enjoyed the Great Mothers having something to do in this episode. They weren't just standing there and doing nothing. And I like some of the reactions and questioning from Morgan as to show how Thrawn's mind really works. I like how Baylan vs. Ahsoka basically went to a draw. I didn't feel Baylan should lose or even die. But I also didn't feel Ahsoka should lose either. I didn't feel it was necessary. I did wonder if Shin was going to join Ahsoka's crew. Maybe in the end, she does? Baylan did create friction by basically ditching her there. It's a little weird to see Baylan turn like that in a hurry. Didn't in Ep 2, he told Morgan it would be a shame to kill Ahsoka considering the dwindling numbers of Jedis left? Then when he first fought her in Ep 4, he said, "It didn't have to come this way." Then all of a sudden, he tells Shin to contact Thrawn to kill Ezra and Sabine? He didn't need to fight Ahsoka if he was planning to ditch Shin there. Baylan could've just went his merry ways. He went too out of character quickly. The great question of what Baylan is trying to do and who is calling him remains a mystery. I don't want to assume anyone anymore because I think it leads to high expectations and then disappointment. If I keep watching these SW channels, all these theories will lead to higher expectations which only leads to disappointment. It could be a Zeffo or Bendu or Abeloth. It's Mephisto in WandaVision all over again. I did wonder why Ezra didn't take the lightsaber? He only used the Force and blasters. Sabine busting her ass as usual with all the action scenes and saying some humorous lines. Sabine keeps growing on me! "She's like you but without the sense of humor." That's a very Han Solo line. BTW, Harrison Ford hates Han Solo because he's not complicated enough? Huh? He started off selfish. An atheist. He evolved to someone better at the end. It's not like Indiana Jones is this complicated character either if Harrison is saying that about Han. But Han's death did add weight to The Force Awakens. I'm all-in for Billie Lourd as Leia Organa. She already portrayed her in The Rise of Skywalker when she was dueling with Luke. She's taller than Carrie but not by much. I think everyone could embrace Billie being the new Leia moving forward even though she'll be older like in her 30s which is where Billie is right now at 31. We accepted Ewan McGregor as a young Obi-Wan. Why can't we accept a different actress portraying Leia? And we got a younger version of her last year. Only makes sense the Leia in her 30s happens to be portrayed by Carrie's one and only child! We are still 23 years in the timeline before The Force Awakens starts. Give us Billie Lourd's version of Leia. Bring it on! Billie is a mother of two. One boy, one girl. If the boy is old enough, he can portray the young Ben Solo as Ben is about 6 in this current timeline born in 5 ABY. Her son is currently 3. Overall, I'll give this an 8.5/10. I wish it was at least 10 minutes longer and they gave us the answer to Baylan's calling. We got a little bit of everything in this episode. Not the strongest episode but it gave us a little bit of everything starting with Hera. I don't believe we needed all the scenes with Ahsoka hiding and escaping in that mine field. I felt it stalled the story a little. Just filler moments. I think we needed more Baylan here and I don't mean another lightsaber duel with Ahsoka. Just his purpose being in Peridea. The stuff with Thrawn and Ezra were all excellent. Enhanced both characters. The Nightsisters or Great Mothers had something to do. Every character got a W except Senator Xiono. Even Threepio got a rare W from me. Hera gave me a laugh and gave one to Mon when she told Xiono, "No, I protected the New Republic by ignoring you." Nice burn, Hera. W for her. Senator Xiono: Easily the worst character in this series. He's either up to no good or he's really, really stupid to not give a damn about Thrawn's return. But we all need our heels and morons. He's only the latter. He's the opposite to how Thrawn is as a heavy. Xiono will have a cheap death and we will all laugh when it finally happens. He actually makes you miss Jar Jar. I can't believe we only have 1 more episode to go. I wish it was 90 minutes long like a typical Stranger Things S4 episode but I bet it's under 50 minutes again. After Ahsoka, there's going to be a long drought for SW content. We'll get Loki S2 next Friday (Oct 6), but expect delays for a lot of other projects that were supposed to come out next year. I'm aware the writers strike (WGA) ended recently but the actors strike (SAG-AFTRA) is still going on and is a separate issue. So expect a lot of projects being pushed to 2025 or later. The only thing I'll be interested next year is House of the Dragon and we're only getting 8 episodes of that for S2. We first hear C-3PO say in this episode, "Oh. How rude." It's one of his catchphrases and he said it in The Empire Strikes Back when the other droid that looks like him but in silver says something to him. So basically Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) from Full House ripped off Threepio with that catchphrase? How rude!!

I know people will try to use the words “Glup Shitto” yet again when it comes to the appearance of C-3PO and Anakin Skywalker in the penultimate episode of Ahsoka, but that’s not true at all when you see that 3PO was there to represent and save Hera on behalf of Leia in a way that shows Filoni tastefully honoring the legacy, presence and character of Carrie Fisher as Leia without appearing by CG deepfake or uncanny valley de-aging. And I think Carrie Fisher is smiling from above at how Filoni handled her presence in Ahsoka well. Also, it made sense to have Anakin’s hologram in this episode so Ahsoka could get one last fight lesson from his prerecorded training lessons worked on before she went to fight against Thrawn and save Ezra and Sabine. So, yeah, it made sense for them to appear and wasn’t just fan service.

At this point it's more of a matter of distance, and not direction. The Eye of Sion has multiple super star destroyer hyperdrives. No way Sabine's Jedi Starcruiser could make it on its own without help.

i had a few issues with this episode ( thought shin hottie and baylan had a deeper relationship but they parted ways like their relationship meant nothing- shin hottie allowed to let go by ahsoka... and some goofy interactions during fight scenes..etc) but overall was fun and enjoyed it enough. wasnt as good as last three episodes.
