@alexjames6805 The fact the door stopped exactly when he needed to cut off their escape and then IMMEDIATELY opened when he needed to pass through it is telling that both events are linked to Vader, not just the latter. Also the fact that the door smoothly opened, no siezing or grinding or resistance. Like nothing was wrong with it at all. It wasn't forced to open. It was ALLOWED to open.

@@GuukanKitsune They cut the power for the whole hallway, including the door, Vader didn't know what they were carrying, otherwise he would have joinked that from the beginning, he just wanted to kill those rebels on his way to the parked ship in the garage.

That end scene with Vader watching the ship escape, even with all his horrific power he wasn’t able to stop the ship. You can feel the weight of absolute fury he has watching that ship flee. I think what would have been even more horrifyingly badass if he got there and reached out with the force and held the ship for a few seconds but had to let it go because it was too much.

Although he boards that ship shortly afterwards, kills everyone and imprisons the princess, so it was only a temporary setback. The first Star Wars movie only happened because the guy who saw the escape pod launch was too dumb to remember that droids and secret government blueprints don't have life signs.

Anakin has a recurring habit of effing around and forgetting the main mission. He could have yoinked the disc out of that rebel's hand like he did with their blsters. The force would have shown him where the disc was.

He was actually letting them get away, expecting them to race straight to the Rebel Base he was trying to locate. Slaughtering all those guys was just to make it convincing.

I remember watching this in theaters with my brother and former step-dad. When I heard Darth Vader's breathing and his crimson red lightsaber lit up the hallway, I had chills and fear going through my body. I saw Rogue One during its opening weekend and BOY OH BOY. When I tell you the entire cinema audibly gasped then went completely silent through this whole scene. Then as soon as Leia came on screen, it was uncontrollable cheers and applause. I actually didn't even hear her line 😅 That cinema experience will forever be burned into my brain.

Dear lady, members of the Prince Charming fan club, you and others still haven't understood that this is not "Anakin", whatever that means, but a gunman with a fixed goal. He is a criminal of the worst kind. A being that unhesitatingly infiltrates the young men in the Jedi slaughtered the temple. Killing to kill, that is its premise. How can you overlook all of this and still think you can go window shopping with him and make your girlfriends jealous. He already has the invitation letter from the Gestapo, the SD and the SS in his apartment. This is "your" Anakin, the “dear” Anakin.

You can always tell a younger fan because they refer to the dark lord of the Sith as "Anakin." Those of us that saw Star Wars (Okay, "A New Hope") in the theater in 1977 will always call him Darth Vader. This is my favorite scene in all of Star Wars, and to think that it was a last-minute addition makes me even more grateful for it.

A thing most don’t notice is that the Hallway was black and the door wouldn’t open because Vader was using the Force to hold it that way. Plus using it to block incoming blaster shots, levitate people, etc. Also, because he feeds on their fear, he intentionally turned his breathing system off. Normally, he’s got a bunch of lit colored buttons on his chest.

Rogue One is easily the best Disney Star Wars movie, and arguably the best Star Wars movie period. It's a shame it'll never get the love it truly deserves because it is Disney Star Wars. In "A New Hope, Vader physically lifts a rebel up and chokes him. In Rogue One, he uses the Force to lift and choke enemies.

This movie, good or not, was one of the most unneeded things ever produced by Disney Star Wars. The entire film is set to explain a single sentence in A New Hope and by its own plot causes a notable retcon in Episode IV that makes Princess Leia look like a total idiot, something she is not (prior the Sequel Trilogy). With all that being said, this scene alone should just be preserved and inserted in to the Original Trilogy. In my edits, tis hallway scene, by itself, is put into the beginning of A New Hope just prior to the Stormtroopers busting in to the Princess's ship.
