Yeah, I've seen people call out the LOTR reference, but this is the first time I heard of the Treasure Planet ones. Brand demolition was always the goal, and Iger rolled with it because he was dumb enough to believe the astroturfed messaging would be effective enough help him financially/politically, or thought whatever losses Disney incurred would be short-term enough to not affect his rise to power during The Great Reset. If Grand Admiral Thrawn was sent to a galaxy far far away, he would have used this opportunity to expand and strengthen his forces, recruit the worlds' population to be his new soldiers and laborers, and use their resources to build more bases and ships. If this was OG Thrawn, he would have done just that. Heck, given that we know this further galaxy has resources to use, sentient life, and besides the whales, one planet has a hill statue monument of the Father, Son, and Daughter. Thrawn should have, in a decade, figured a way back himself with the help of the population in that Galaxy. Also, he would have killed Ezra or convinced him to work with him given 10 years on the same planet... Instead of seemingly ignoring him and the crab people besides the mentioned past runs... Honestly, besides making Thrawn look incompetent, non-threatening, and a idiot even compared to the worst Rebels version. Even Ezra was made ridiculous, which is Dave's own creation, as same as Ahsoka, Sabine, and Hera. Dave either gave up completely or lost the competent ghost writer he relied on in the past to give passable retcon EU stories... So now he just makes completely trash retread EU stories with his characters taking the spotlight...

I dreamed of a Star Wars universe where George would curate and modify the best parts of the EU into a perfect continuation of his vision. I could have never imagined what would be waiting for us in the future. Truly the end of all the major franchises. They didn't go out with a bang either, just a whimper. @@control_the_pet_population I agree it's happening across the board but I think people focus on KK for two reasons. 1 She was handed the reins of one. Of the most popular franchises in history. 2 She had the financial backing of Disney to do whatever she wanted. Despite these two factors she still managed to bomb it into the ground and salt the earth afterwards. It's simply the epic scale of the thing that makes her stand out so much.

Not because she hates disney no, but she certainly hates you, the fans, and "the patriarchy". Which she no doubt feels has held her and her 'brilliant' ideas back, and kept her in the shadow of all the men (with actual brilliance, and talent) like Spielberg and Lucas all her life, just because she's a "strong empowered independent wahman!"

Part of the whole point of the Darkside originally was that you were a better fighter with more immediate access to power AND skill AND ability. Making you a better/more dangerous/more efficient individual in the realm of combat. The entire point is that the skill, power and violence the Darkside provides are intriguing and tempting, and while that may bring success in the short term, eventually such an approach will consume you. Thus, the Jedi take the opposite approach. Allowing The Force to guide them, often through non-violent or clever uses of the same well of power the Darkside pulls from. Violence used in a defensive way if the situation calls for it. It's hilarious how modern Sat Wars knows essentially nothing about the intricacies of The Force. Instead of thinking their way out of situations, or using their inherent skill and violent abilities to turn the tables on the Darkside user, modern Jedi are just flat out better at everything than Darkside users. Given what happens in-universe, why would anyone even want to be a Darkside user? Jedi were never supposed to be flat out superior beings. Disney created a stark and completely incorrect balance. The Darkside characters need more efficient, violent and purposeful victories over main/lightside characters. They need to return to the roots of the original vision for The Sith. A great example of what I'm talking about is the Star Wars Novel "Shatterpoint" by Matthew Stover. One of the most underrated gems of sci-fi fantasy I've ever read. Perfectly encapsulates the difference in world-view, approach to life and the difference in perception between the Darkside and the Lightside. And through illuminating that contrast you start to see how similar the two opposing sides really are. I've read everything from Asimov to Herbert to Lovecraft to "Three body problem" and I can say without a doubt that this novel is among the best one off's I've ever read. It's even got an audiobook on KZbin: Part 1: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqCoin17iKmFZq8si=-yCtkYhlRvK7lryb Part 2: kzbin.info/www/bejne/onW2l5Kprchomqssi=U0a5tCz13SThY1Fx If you are a real Star Wars fan, you owe it to yourself to check this out.

I can already imagine HISHE doing a parody on Ashoka. The scene where Sabine evades the rebel pilots, ending more realistically to how we know: she’d make the same move under the x wing, but end up crash, and bleeping up alongside the two pilots, killing everyone, because we know speeders just can’t make those types of maneuvers. We all remember what happened to those Scout Troopers that’d rode those things on Endor. The slightest debris caused them to go flying, or crash and blow up on impact.

I really don’t like how easy it is to move between galaxies now. It’s a classic case of the writer not considering the implications of how this affects the rest of the universe. Rigging a couple hyperdrives together? Space whales do the trip in a couple of hours? How has no galactic government before or after this done these things? RoS is after this and Palpatine was hanging out in the unknown regions and only wanted to re-conquer the old galaxy. You’d think a guy like that would have ambitions or figure out something as simple as rigging a couple hyperdrives together... It’s the same as hyperspace ramming. Looks cool but brings up the question why no faction has weaponized the shit out of it. RoS retconned it into a 1 in a million maneuver but if that was the case the first order wouldn’t have immediately understood what Holdo was up to or panicked... And even if eyeballing it is 1 in a million the first step of weaponizing it would be better targeting systems. With lightspeed skipping you can try again and again until you hit something and a planet would be far easier than a ship.

I cringe whenever people talk about "empowered" women. Super cringey. I don't care if it's conservatives or liberals. It's gay asf everytime. Gina Carano makes me cringe all the same. The doting that modern people put on "strong female characters" is just pathetic, and really illuminates to me just how not strong and not powerful and pathetic women are in the real world. People have been coming up with "empowered" females for fucking decades. Gina Carano is not new, nor is she interesting. This is the same trit bullshit over and over and over again. Really goes to show that women aren't actually strong, if they need to be doted on like this and emotionally masturbated by both conservatives and liberals to feel "powerful". Men never go around trying to feel empowered. How gay is that.
