@@thisisfyneonce TedX became a thing the brand lost all meaning and credibility. TED has become a caricature of itself. As have most of the talks, which imitate the presentation style of the popular TED talks from when the event originally became a part of the cultural zeitgeist. While they certainly try to sound extremely profound, most these days say little, if anything new, and are in practice, the equivalent of writing your own puff piece.

When it first went available for public viewing, it was sort of interesting, because people had things worth saying. Now it's exactly what you expect from all things mainstream, same buzzwords different nobody. You already know what they'll say. I get more more thought provoking material just forgetting to bring my phone to the toilet, reading the back of shampoo bottles, at least that has *some* purpose. More than victim mentality hacks have to talk about, like I'm supposed to think they've got it bad. Reminds me of that episode of Seinfeld where George tells his life as a short stocky slow witted bald man, what's funny though is that as ridiculous of an example as that is, it's still true. You want to know what a tough existence is like? Men can tell you all about that one. But we don't. Because... No one cares. Even if people did, it gets old fast. They don't understand just how little empathy anyone can possibly have for these entitled casting call karens with their bitter frumpy rejections of reality.

I want to say it's been at least 11 years since TED has been relevant. It's become a huge circle jerk for disconnected overly important people and their friends who are seeking investors in their newest grift. I checked in a few years ago to see a string of basically investor ads for 'new' tech that does not work as implied. Felt gross to watch.

The built their coffin when they created TedX and just let anyone on that. No one really knew or cared that it wasn't the real Ted stage and it completely destroyed their brand. The only time there was a literal wage gap in America; during and following World War 2 cause so many men were at war, it led to so many men unable get work cause companies were hiring cheap female labor, that it actually contributed to the The Equal Pay Act of 1963. Not just that, but I live in South Korea as an ESL teacher, where they openly discriminate, and so many men and non-whites can't get work here because they prefer young attractive females as teachers above all else (especially if they have no experience; they can pay them even less that way.) They tend to not hire males as much, not just because they're "less attractive," but because men tend to be more competitive with money and less likely to take a full time teaching job for the US equivalent of $12 an hour. Feminists are so damn stupid, they can't do basic logic and math to see how much an actual wage gap would benefit them above all else the same way raising the minimum wage would benefit corporations above all else, cause it'd mean less people per job. I suck at math and even I know all this.

Being married to a woman of Indian background and being white myself I understand the "girl at birth" tale she came with. I have two wonderful girls myself, and it's very true that when girls are born people in on the Indian side of the family expressed their regret that we only had girls. Mind you that was not the whole family and mainly the older generation. I have seen how girls are treated differently in Indian culture, but it's Indian culture and in a culture that is placed in the people who are first, or second generation. In short it's a "brown" issue that Indians have and not something that should be placed at the feet of the modern western white man.

Gundam you called it. You said when her show gets cancelled she’ll just blame men and white people. You were right.

Lilly Singh complaining that white men "get by just on their potential" when she was literally given a show based solely on her potential is a level of hypocrisy I didn't think she was capable of. I'm both saddened and impressed.

The only thing I have to disagree with you on is that Lily actually got her show because she is a Bisexual ✅ Woman ✅ of Color ✅
@Nabo42

@@mikewazowski9922 That is true but it doesn't disagree with my premise. The network that gave her the show thought that because she checked all of those boxes she had potential to be popular. Because that woke stuff is what all the kids want these days, isn't it (some program director, probably)?

Simple hiring practice: - hire people you'd FEAR losing, and see on the competing team. - by contrast, Lilly Singh is a Machiavellian superweapon you'd love to inject into enemy camps.

No. No her father didn't do that. That story is as believable as an Instagram model saying she's naturally like the pictures.
