Rich people paying jedi to train them? Maybe a dooku type but that wouldnt be a thing any real jedi would do, they dont value money and material wealth. Just doesnt make sense, kinda weak argument. The force can be used without pushing cups and shit. Rogue one the blind guy is definitely one with the force but cannot use it. Maz Kanata as well. Ppl even say Han Solo channels the force. We'll see what happens with Sabine, I doubt she does any force abilities like push or pull but even if she did, it's more earned than Rey.

The thing I hated the most about this episode was when Hera was meeting with Mon Mothma and the senators and Hera says “Thrawn is not like any other imperial officers” and then she says he killed friends that were like family to me…I’m pretty sure every imperial officer has done things where people have lost friends and actual family members. What should have happened in that scene was Hera say something about how Thrawn isn’t like every other imperial officer because of his tactical and strategic genius and that would be some good context for those that have not seen Rebels other than “Thrawn bad he kill people”

I think a lot of people have forgotten about Chirrut Imwe already lmao. I think that’s the direction that the shows gonna go in with Sabine. A person who’s not exactly force sensitive but someone who has had enough training to where she can use the force in very limited ways like heightened senses. I hope that’s the direction they’re going in at least since I figured the force isn’t exclusive to Jedi.

I’m with Alex on this attachment stuff. Grogu has high potential, hence more dangerous than Sabine ever can be. Also, Grogu showcased his weakness multiple times, choking people and stuff. Ahsoka most likely felt his insecurities, just like Luke. And in this episode Ahsoka points out she does not want Sabine to be a jedi, but herself.

When In the first movie Obiwan said " this are very precise shots, only a storm trooper could done it" ater that every single movie, they never shot anything, same for any bad guy, they just shoot to kill a third grade actor but nobody that was important never got hurt. On this episode those drone pilots and their ship should be recall and disposed of, there is not use for them, except to accentuate how good the good guys are.

So in Legends they talked about how not every Padawan becomes a Jedi Knight. There was a class system. You had Librarians, Janitors, Pilots, etc that all went through the schooling but had little to no talent. Its how they kept their secrets within the Jedi(esp since they already stole the kid, wouldnt be fair to kick them out just cause they cant move an X-Wing.) People also forget that Obi Wan SUCKED in the force its why he became a Master of the Defensive Form. The dude should have been a low level Jedi but he had heart. To much heart cause Qui Gon had no idea what to do with him at first. Obi Wan was that dude that woke up early for pre PT, did his lessons, and then had a late night session. No wonder him and Anikin clashed. Ani woke up late and like a Disney Princess used the force to get dressed and feed himself while Obi Wan had been up for hours just to keep his abilities sharp

I’m a woman and I’m getting so annoyed with girl boss, girl power, overly female centric stories. It’s exhausting and almost never done well. Why did the 80’s master female power? It’s because those stories did not belittle the men. Han, Luke, and Leia worked extremely well because each had strengths and weaknesses, and the others complimented them. Now, women have to be ALL the heroes, and white men ALL the villains. It is so cheap. That paired with extremely poor storytelling is killing entertainment today. I think you all at the Angry Joe show need to remember what excellent storytelling is. If you want something modern, look up the Graphic Audio versions of Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive. You won’t be disappointed. Edit: You can read them too, but I’m not sure if you do books here too.

I mean to be fair in the Clone Wars era we have people in the Jedi organization that are force sensitive but not skilled enough for being Jedi knights. You do have to dip into some the extended material for it (which Filoni dose often). Force sensitive children that didn't make the cut were sent to several other Jedi Serves corp (Agricultural Corps, the Medical Corps, the Educational Corps, and the Exploration Corps) these corps were Jedi run and put talents of the 'washed out' initiates to other uses. Obi-wan himself was actually washed out to the Agi-corp and on his way there when a chance encounter with Qui-gon changed his fate. So we know force skills range wildly. We also have Chirrut Îmwe from Rouge One who was force attuned but it was indicated that it was a life time of training that got him to where he was. I feel like Chirrut is more where Sabine will end up.

@@mpnuorvaWas it a plot device? yes. does that make it a bad idea? no. It makes perfect sense actually. militaries and literally any career field ever in the real world all work the same way. Some subfields might be bs but many aren't. this idea that jedi should only make up soldiers by itself and do nothing else but go on missions and sit on the council is totally nonsensical and sounds very in efficient. How else are they gonna meaningfully teach students, keep archives, work on medicine, etc? and your idea doesn't even work like that in the real world. (which star wars is already leaning heavily on) There's a lot more stupid stuff in legends that doesn't work like Starkiller, or conflicting stories, but the service corps being bad is a huge exaggeration imo. However, it's not like it's really that important and needs to be incorporated or removed because it's not like it deserves screen time. just like I don't care for the deadweight scenes in these Disney star wars shows.

You guys keep talking about Grogu as if he is a character, but he's not: Grogu is just a plot device used to move the Mandalorian's story. And a tool to sell merchandise. I agree with Joe. I'm old enough to have seen theatrical releases of them all and I liked the Force the most when it was just an "ancient" religion that has more akin to some psychic ability with telekinetic powers. When they started exploding the Force into just straight up space magic wizardry and they consistently kept making it more and more powerful with shadow Emperor clones ripping apart moons with just his force powers was when it went WAAAYYY too far for me. I think Feloni is taking it a bit back to its roots with Sabine, where she is just what we'd classify as normal, but like many martial arts in the real world, they attempt to train you how to be aware of your surroundings and use your other senses. The Japanese call this zanshin awareness. It's about connecting to nature (in SW, it's the universe) and understanding your place in it. This is what Sabine will probably be like... able to use her minimal connection with the Force to have "bad feelings" about things and cinematic ninja style awareness to avoid surprise attacks and be able to blind fight. Much like Rogue One's Guardians of the Whills.

Sabine could be cool if she decides to not be a traditional Jedi, and instead acts more like a Mandalorian Shock Trooper, akin to a Vanguard in Mass Effect. Where she uses Force Dash to slam into combat, force push to knock opponents down, and then uses force pull to grab objects for cover while she bodies fools with a scatter-blaster. More of a momentum Mandalorian that has limited force powers that supplement and compliment her combat capabilities.

@@simonrigg83911 of the bigger criticisms for what the sequels setup and ultimately abandoned for Rey was that she was a nobody, that ends up a powerful force user. People were excited for that storyline and instead of them paying that off, they do a complete 180 and say she's a descendant of Palpatine. In regards to what we've seen in the movies, it's always been established the force is in every living being. It's only until Rouge One do we find a director that took a "risk" by showing someone who learns to use the force without being an outright Jedi or Sith. I think it's an interesting concept they haven't explored enough. I can't ride a skateboard, yet I've seen 4 year olds pick it up right away. There's professionals that do flips and tricks I couldn't even comprehend to the point of it being borderline magic to me. All that being said, if I practiced for 1000 hours I'm sure I could learn the basics. Some people are naturally gifted, but training is always necessary like any skill to master. This to me is no different than the idea of the force.

I agree with what you were saying around 16:00. Having a C level force user like Sabine is good because it puts into perspective how powerful main characters are: Ashoka, anakin, palpatine, etc. Having someone like Sabine who could train for years but never even come close to the proficiency Ashoka has really makes it look like damn these people are powerful as shit and would most likely obliterate me with ease. And it gives a sense of futility to fighting the empire because Vader + palpatine are epically powerful in comparison to Sabine. And it would be a cool character arc for Sabine to come to that realization and let go of her pride and other traits when she understands how powerful the people they are facing are.

Why would the enemy starfighters dive in towards Ahsoka when she is outside her ship with the sabers, as opposed to . . . I don't know? Just staying stationary and blasting them while their shields and guns are offline? Completely disagreed with your past two episode reviews for this series so I'm hoping you address these two points I just made. Enjoyed this review more than the last two vids you did but I do think it's weird that you rate it a 7/10 despite the many grievances and errors you yourself have pointed out. Starfighters have limited range and of course being stationary makes you an easy target for a Jedi to redirect blaster fire. I don't think these fighters would've been able to get through the Hull of Ahsoka's ship anyways so targeting her was more logical while moving. Plus it makes a fun WW2 inspired action scene. If we used you're logic they'd be no space battles in Star Wars as everyone would fire from a distance like modern dogfights. I remember playing Tie Fighter and yes being stationary is good for firing upon a weak target with no weapons but a jedi who can direct your fire back at you is a bad idea. But when the fighters are shooting ahsoka (for some reason) when she is on the ships outer hull. The shots still do not damage the ship which begs the question why send fighters to attack the ship they can't hurt. Being an average Jedi is what made Obi-wan so great. He failed as a youngling, and was given the opportunity to prove himself to his master. He was a normal person in a galaxy full of people more talented and powerful than him and still one of the greatest Jedi to date.
@gladkomrad2593
@gladkomrad2593 Жыл бұрын
I see a lot of people saying this but I don't agree. Obiwan defeats Darth Vader in combat. Twice... if we count the crappy Disney+ show. That's not average. I think Kenobi was always strong in the force in a lowkey way. If Sabine has Obiwan's ceiling that's way too high for a character showing no signs of force potential at an earlier age.

@@gladkomrad2593 Exactly. And through his own achievements, he became a member of the Jedi Council as well. An average person, regardless of the occupation, doesn't reach the top of the organization that he finds himself in. Then there's also everything that he went through and survived during the Clone Wars, which broke the minds of countless Jedi due to how horrible it was. That requires some serious mental fortitude on his part, not to mention skill to survive and beat all those foes that he did.

It is starting to bother me how everything has to be a Man and Woman debate nowadays, especially with Joe, it feels like every second AngryJoe news episode or every other review episode goes on about how man hate woman, you cant criticize any female character anymore for bad writing or bad acting without instantly being called a woman hater. I just wish we could go back to the time where political agendas werent forced down our throats at every step of the way.

TLDR: “Everyone is connected to the force and can use it to varying capacities” is a good idea and fulfills George Lucas’s vision for what the Force is. In a way, I appreciate both sides of the “how the force is accessible to people” discussion and have some thoughts. From a narrative standpoint, I agree somewhat with Alex that having everyone become the “wizard” archetype at the expense of other roles such as smuggler/rogue or mandalorian/warrior can make the fantasy universe feel less fleshed out and or repetitive after a number of times. However, I do think the “everyone is connected to the force” argument is the most valid and honestly a return to George Lucas’s vision of it. OT fans were pissed at the inclusion of midochlorians in the prequels, making the force feel more science-based than fantastical/spiritual. However, I think that adds to the universe in a meaningful way and doesn’t detract from the spiritual aspect of it and I think the Ahsoka show is trying to point this out. Like Joe suggested, I think midi-count is simply a convenient way for the Jedi to examine your “force potential.” In our history, ancient scientists were often theologians trying to understand the world and their faith with a variety of methods, some of which we find today as incorrect or at least not so reliable. This how I view the old Jedi Order’s use of midi-count to determine who should be trained to become Jedi, as reliable yet an overly discriminating measure of who is “chosen” by the Force to be a Jedi. With Sabine’s midi-count being absolute shit, she likely won’t become an Anakin, a Rey (ew, pls god no), or even clone war era average Jedi in terms of the force. However, like Chirrut Imwe from Rogue One, with enough practice, devotion, and belief in the force, she may be able to use it (however at an extremely limited capacity). Furthermore, Alex brought up potential plot holes and issues like “why didn’t the rich pay Jedi to train their kids” or “Sabine is just taking up Grogu’s mando-Jedi persona and is not using her mando abilities that she’s proficient in. My response to that is that: 1. people never believed that any besides obviously talented force-sensitive people could use the force. Few people outside the Jedi, Sith, etc have little understanding about the force and these organizations. So if they don’t know that everyone can interact with force, especially when the Jedi are going around taking babies who they claim are “worthy” to be trained by their own standards (midi-count & strength of attachments) why would you believe any different. 2. Sabine could really later discover her niche and be a mandalorian, but with a minor ability to use the force in creative or practical ways like increasing her awareness or availing somewhat in particular situations rather than all the time. I would definitely prefer this as opposed to her becoming the new Tar Visla. In the end, I’m cautiously excited to see what they do in the Ahsoka series and hope this is where their going with understanding the Force. I mean to makes “May the Force be with you (always)” feel like something at actually be true rather than just a customary goodbye that sounds good (it does sound really good tho), so here’s hoping to that. Thank you for listening to my ramble if you did. And yes, I dedicated *WAAAY* too much time to this fucking comment lol

The problem with episode 3 has absolutely nothing to do with the length of the episode, that is simply the side effect of an absolutely laughably bad script. We have now gone through multiple plot sections progressed only by sheer incompetence in either enemy or ally, absolute happenstance (the droid that loses a leg and decides to stick around, the assassin droid creator that leaves all of the information still on the droid), and finally the horrible writing for every single character in universe. This is in 3 episodes mind you. Every show has small things in it that cause problems, but not this fast. Characters forget skills and make excuses for why they cannot do them, Mandalorian trained warriors swinging staffs grunting after a teacher tells them to "listen", characters who have gone through literal war forgetting how to target and aim (her settings were changed tho!, as she hits a button to move 3 bars and resets her xbox controller sensitivity). Fight scene choreography that makes the prequels and the last jedi look like a masterpiece (I too enjoy twirling next to superheated plasma) The problem with Disney Star Wars is entirely seated in their writing room, they are taking subject matters with a fan base and just shoveling anything and everything out with zero thought involved. It shows. Edit: the "woman" problem is also the same issue, it's the writing of the female characters. They have done none of the leg work involved that have integrated Sabine or Ahsoka to all of their fans in this series. they have shown no character whatsoever and have just carried over similar traits seen in past Disney star wars (stoicism, mockery for zero character reason-> the droid answering a question Sabine just asked, a character needing only to "believe" to have power). These red flags are just short-circuiting neurons for a lot of people who have seen the same things over and over. Hopefully this doesn't come to pass, a lot of people really like the clone wars, and it would be a shame for that too to get ruined by the endless pursuit to cash in on fandom Disney has been on lately.

because its stupid for them to complain that they are women. Their sex has nothing to do with anything. yet they constantly think this is more important. Why? Its weird ass behavior and its there because its what their audience wants to hear. Problem is when someone NORMAL watches the video they are exposed to "WHY ARE THERE SO MANY WOMEN IN THIS SHOW!" and "HERWARS" bullshit they get influenced and start thinking that female leads are bad, or if theres say 3 female leads instead of whatevery amount they deem appropriate it bad. If they can talk about that, why cant I talk about who cares if theres women? We just hold the line with the majority who dont give a fuck if theres more "females in power" and instead focus on the story being told.@@MST3KNJ I get it if you are a fan of them, but realize we can have differing opinions. I'd like to see Sabine fail again on her force training and Ahsoka constantly pushing her nevertheless and over that their relationship deteriorating to the point where they even might become adversaries. The show then could follow Ahsoka not only trying to thwart Thrawn's plans to take over the galaxy but also to regain the friendship of Sabine. It's probably not going to happen, but I'd like to see some serious conflicts between main characters of the show that are not the main villain. Maybe she even gets won over by Thrawn by convincing her that his empire is nothing like the Sith empire and that in the end force users in general were to blame for all the mess because they think they're special.
