I had the exact same reaction, I was tearing up for most of it :) Rebels was the first animated Star Wars show I gave a shot after the movies and it holds such a special place in my heart because of that, so to see more from these characters in live action is everything!

I think many of us 'Rebels' fans felt the same way! Also, for us that had experienced the 90's start of the Star Wars Expanded Universe and Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy - the drop of "heir to the Empire" is SO meaningful. They can't do exactly that story, but it's clear that there's a bunch of influence being taken from those first novels. I'm SO excited on how Dave Filoni is going to fuse the post-Rebels "find Exra" story with elements from the Thrawn trilogy. Sooo excited!

I've seen other reactors cry too. 😂All these hints in Mandalorian about this show coming, I was getting so impatient and when I heard of a trailer finally dropping today, I was like, "WHAT? How did I not know about this?!" As a hardcore Rebels fan, I was jumping in joy to see all of my favorite characters finally brought to life. im pretty sure that was Ezra on the hologram in his orange jumpsuit. It is most likely the last message that he sent to the ghost crew in Rebels finale. "And remember Sabine, im counting on you". Sabine was confused by those words then, and if as Ahsoka implies "its been a long time" then i can only assume that those words have haunted Sabine for an equally long time. My biggest curiousity is with that they will do with Ezra though. Will he be the same? Will he and Thrawn have made some sort of uneasy alliance to survive wild space together, has Ezra simply been a prisoner all this time or has he started to veer towards the darkside? There are alot of possiblities.

I didn't hugely anticipate this show, but now I am very excited. I really like the other Star Wars stuff, probably the first two seasons of The Mandalorian and Andor the most. But nothing has been BIG. Things are building up and Ahsoka seems to be that EPIC story, with light saber battles, we're all waiting for.

I literally haven't been this excited for anything Star Wars since I was in single digits, when Episode V came out! Showing my age there😁 Rogue One/Andor gave me hope that there may be a future for live action Star Wars, and now, this trailer has me chomping at the bit. I must have watched it approaching 100 times since it was released. I think Rosario has captured Ahsoka beautifully and the transformation from the slightly annoying Snips to the utter badass she has become is a joy to behold. I'm OG Star Wars, I've read the entire expanded Universe, been there through all the highs and lows but Ahsoka Tano has emerged as my absolute favourite - I believe We're in for a real treat come August. I totally get the crying, this Trailer is pure frisson from start to finish, and the 'Heir to the Empire' line gives me goosebumps every time. ❤️

More than likely she figured out a way to use Holographic hair because there's no way that hair is getting into a Mandalorian helmet she probably has really short hair and develop the technology because she is a genius , I got teary-eyed too And I'm in my 40s

Ahsoka is my favorite character of all the SW universe... so, i'm so hyped for this serie. The Timothy Zahn's trilogy are my favorite star wars novels... so hearing the "heir to the empire"... woooow ! I think Sabine is great in live action... i'm so happy to see Hera (and Chopper)... i hope Jacen will be here too :) My only regret... i'd really like to see one day Mara Jade in the canon universe... she was my favorite character in the Legend universe... but i'm not sure it will be possible now...

I remember when Timothy Zahn's Heir To The Empire Trilogy came out. My favorite Star Wars novels. Then they brought Thrawn into canon, in Rebels. And Rukh (and by extension, all of the Noghri). 2 of my favorite Star Wars characters. That just leaves Mara Jade... who was my favorite character of that trilogy.

Wild shot in the dark and I mean wild, with Gideon getting nabbed with beskar alloy at the scene, and now these new bads who are also attacking imperial forces, and their particular light sabers. The sabers seem more orange then red, Mandalorian knights ex jedi who turned mando in the days of the old republic all rocked orange light sabers.

That was a PERFECT trailer! Everyone looked great and the new dark side red saber wielding characters looked phenomenal. For me, seeing live action Sabine was something special. She's ALWAYS been my favorite, and the best Mandalorian, IMHO. This show's going to be something truly incredible and an emotional roller coaster. A real treat for us hardcore Rebel's fans. Oh my goodness, I knew you were my kinda people Angela! I grew up with the original trilogy. Then I discovered The Clone Wars. At first I didn't like Ahsoka very much but she is by far my all time favorite Star Wars character period. When Dave Filoni finished it a few years ago I was an emotional mess! I'll never look at Vader the same way. I already get emotional over Ahsoka coming to live action and watching your emotional reactions during The Expanse was tough enough. God help me! But I'm here for it!

Love me some Ray Stephenson, I loved him since he played Titus Pullo in Rome. We've gotten Pullo in Star Wars twice now (Baylon in this, and Gar Saxon in Rebels and Clone Ways), Vorenus (Kevin Mckidd) in Rebels as Fenn Rau and hopefully in live action), and Brutus (Tobias Menzies) as Tiber Saxon in Rebels) all from Rome. If you've never seen Rome the HBO show it is amazing and I'd watch someone reacting to it, it's only 2 seasons like 10 episodes each long.

I am excited in everything. Seeing the Rebel crew continue their story in live action. The reference to Grand Admiral Thrawn and heir to the empire, learning who those orange light saber wielders are, they Jedi, Sith, Dark Jedi? My first light saber I had crafted was blood orange. Coincedentally the same emittter Kanan Jarrus Lightsaber has but a different hilt. So I have a personal stake in learning what the orange lighsaber means in canon. Speaking of Kanan I wonder if we will see his son Jason.

Thrawn is totally the best Star Wars Villain from the EU before they started introducing him in Rebels/Ahsoka. The Chiss Empire's who deal is also super interesting. I've always wondered what would of happened if the Chiss Ascendency never actually allied with the Empire. They probably could of crushed them if they really wanted to. I feel like that's also one of the reason's that Chiss Imperials are more respected than other Alien races to the Empire. Chiss Masers are better than Lasers after all. And their ships are also impressive. Could melt a hole straight through a Star Destroyer I imagine.

Hearing Ahsoka refer to Thrawn as "Heir to the Empire" gave me chills. Seeing Hera and Chopper together brought back all the memories of Rebels, and made me miss Kanan. Chopper needs to blow up a whole ship in this series. I need my "droid harbinger of destruction" back in action. I love IG-11 and K2-SO, and they're both total badasses. However, Chopper is a Skynet level threat.

I'm pretty sure Sabine and Ahsoka was the live version of the epilogue of Rebels with the mural out of view. Same tower Sabine sees Ahsoka flying in over, flanked by dual xwings. Sabine then takes the speeder over the fields followed by the loth wolves and watched by the loth cat going into the city. This trailer does not disappoint. That's also Ezra in the hologram from the message he left for the ghost crew before he attacked Thrawn. Same costume design, lightsaber on his hip, actor that's cast to play him.

I honestly think Sabine having short hair in the show was a graphical thing (they either couldn't or didn't want to animate that). No one had long hair in Rebels, just a ponytail or a bun. I think it's a nice look, because more hair allows for greater color contrasts.
