I don't think a highly constrained bot like GPT which has all the ethical guardrails in place that it does is going to do anything like harm education. After all it's fairly educational if you're asking it the right questions. All of this depends more on what the user is inputting than anything.

As an educator, I would ban the use of it in an essay writing capacity. This is too bad that teachers have yet another thing to worry about, take up their time to check to see if an assignment is AI-written. 😞

I can already predict a C grade average student will ask ChatGPT to generate a C grade essay 🤷🏼‍♀️
