I'm not the type of person that bothers commenting on KZbin but this song is one of the few things that is worth the time. I remember hearing this song for the first time in the movie "Unfaithful" and it stuck with me. It was so pervasive that I had to find it. I'm not an old guy at 31 but it really has to be said that they simply don't make music like this anymore. There is such soul and depth to this in the chords that little else need be added. I'm well aware that his father wrote the song but I feel blessed to be born at a time that I'm able to hear something as hypnotizing as "Ai Du". Truly amazing music. I think the only thing that could top hearing this song, is hearing it live and this is probably the closest I'll ever get to that.

I'm more attached to his father's original version, but this is also excellent. The guitar tuning/playing sounds pretty much like Ali's tuning/playing on the solo version of 'Diaraby'. Great to see Vieux is continuing the legacy in his own way and right. Thanks to the uploader!

Saw this guy today at the Devizes Carnival and I thought he and his band were sensational. They call him the Hendrix of the Sahara - he deserves the compliment. Watching him live you get a stonking blues/rock/afro/celt sound with unbelievably, effortless guitar playing. I've seen most of the top guitar players in my time and I rate 'Vieux' up there with the best.
