Personally I have the same mindset as you do, if there was a way to just flat out halt all simping, even if it is to simply destroy this particular market on OF, if OF were to just stop working indefinitely, first there would be massive uproar from the woman and probably a few men too, that currently use it to make ALL of their income. But after that though, assuming another site doing the exact same thing isnt made to replace it. That would significantly help in recovery on both sides. The simps would hopefully start doing somehting else (doubtful) and the people making their living will eventually, after all their money dwindles away assuming they are even the slightest bit responsible for themselves, would start doing something else. The problem is that it takes a decade for men to be attractive partners. And that decade may feel to them like they can never get one. So there is a risk that men who would otherwise be motivated to do good so that they can get a girlfriend will instead just let go and be satisfied with an AI one instead. And so far we have no data how lasting the satisfaction of a relationship with an artificial human is. But we do have data on how stable societies are which are not monogamous. You need to remember that the one initiating a divorce/breakup isn't necessarily the one responsible for the relationship not working out. Women are more likely to leave broken/harmful marriages. Men are significantly less likely to leave, even if the relationship is in a state where any sane person would do so, unless they already have a new partner. What everyone is missing about this is that for men, using an AI girlfriend is guys leveling the playing field with modern women. I got in my first and only relationship at age 20. Turns out after three years she wasn't happy with my career progress and dumbed me half a year later. Basically she gave me a chance to reflect and get a better income, but I didn't. All the pressure of income disappeared with her. I got myself a roommate to actually pay for their share of the rent and the car. (day shifter & Night Shifter) I put a large down payment on an apartment with my savings and continue to rent it out, ready to eventually move in myself when the time comes, collecting my wealth in the meanwhile. Her leaving ten years ago was one of the best things that has happened in my adult age and I see no reason to break the cycle anymore. Not any keen at all to run the mill of courtship again. While I agree with Asmon's takes in general here, I think that there's more to why only 50% of young guys seek a relationship. It's not just the "poison" that they are being fed about women being "bad," but also, like he said, because dating is tough as a young guy. Young women have a massive advantage and greatly prefer older men, while these guys are likely struggling to make their way in life. If you are at this stage in life, would you really want to go through the grueling process of dating, or even online dating, where you deal with rejection after rejection after rejection? I'd say that most resign themselves to just focus on themselves. And as for the gender disparity when it comes to being single - it's more significant than Asmon thinks. This discrepancy isnt just magically reversed in the older age groups - women's rate of being single is still lower than men's and their rate actually decreases even farther from 30%. All of this just means that there is a very large portion of men who are and continue to be single. That's because women are not just dating older men, they also have short-term relationships with a small subset of younger men. Most young women report that they aren't single, but not necessarily because they've got a man that's stable and has resources. It also indicates that young women are more prone to have many short-term relationships in series. There are declining birth rates for a reason. So things arent the same as 100 years ago.

Seeing the relationship dynamics and economic interests behind the Disney depiction of "love" and choosing not to participate in a system stacked against men in every single way possible isn't "being fed poison". It's making an informed decision based and observable truths.
