For grounded theory analysis, both NVivo and Atlas.ti are suitable options, especially for working with semi-structured interview data. They both support code and theme generation, but keep in mind that developing a theory goes beyond what these tools directly offer. After creating codes and themes, you can then work outside the software to explore their connections and build a theory. For working with video or audio data, it’s helpful to first transcribe your recordings. This makes it easier to apply codes and themes systematically within either platform.
