I compared an MLA citation using only a URL with ChatGPT versus the tool in SciSpace to create the same citation. Only the ChatGPT citation was correct. I also told GPT to make an improvement based on MLA requirements and it corrected it. SciSpace does not have this capacity. I am an academic librarian. It is important to save and share facts and true information.

SciSpace has been getting worse. Extract data function used to work properly, but not now. I have the premium plan, but it doesn't seem like it's worth it anymore.

I did something similar with Turabian. ChartGPT may have its floors, but it's still developing faster than most of these newbie apps. It's 4.0 is also better than its 3.5 version.

Any AI, built using GPT based LLM model is questionable, when it comes to plagerism. All you could do is to verify sources used and filter it a bit, to make it less identifiable. Unless you know, that is not the case, it cannot be guaranteed to be plagerism free.
