It's the home of the second world war codebreakers. Now it’s the scene for discussions of a new - potentially existential threat to humanity.
The UK government secured an agreement on the opening day on how to manage the riskiest forms of artificial intelligence. But is enough being done to tackle a risk which could in theory prove catastrophic?

He founded the company OpenAI withdrawing because of a potential conflict of interest, only for OpenAI to be co-opted by Microsoft. So he then founded XAI. His other company, Tesla is also working on what it probably the closest thing to AGI with their FSD full self driving project which is also the basis for the system in their Optimus robot. He is currently assembling what is probably the AI system with the most compute anywhere on Earth, called Dojo which is the training model that will process all of the learning data that will be used to create the neural networks for all of the above. He has employed many of the leading AI scientists and researchers to work on these projects. You really should care what he has to say about AI.

We should regulate the applications of AI not the code for it and ensure that industrial AI models meet standard safety requirements, like the EU AI Act suggests, everything else is corporate monopoly bullshit. (There are leaked documents from Google that claim fears that open source AI will beat them out of the market, allowing other players to join the market, making it harder for the big corps to monopolize this market). Open source AI will only accelerate AI progress and innovation while making everything transparent to the public, those companies or individuals that are operating and running AI models for illegal commercial applications should be face the courts. Claims that current AI technology is so advanced that in a matter of few years when it is deployed in much larger scale than today (like 10 times bigger LLMs than ChatGPT), will become conscious and destroy us, are all ignorant delusions

@@windwalker583 AI is not needed for sequencing DNA. you could make AI invent filler for gaps in sampled DNA, but that would not be the original. if jesus ever was a real person (probably) we have no DNA samples of jesus - there have been many artefacts that are supposed to be his foreskin or something associated with his crucifixion, but for the few that are not already known to be fake, the church authorities holding them would never allow DNA testing. and they'd probably make for very bad samples even if you were allowed to destroy the whole thing. it's also extremely unethical to make humans as science experiments, and it would be even more so if you added the pressure of being a cloned return of the messiah to that. what an utterly deranged idea, dude!
