It'll be like the Renaissance on steroids! Also, we will see the jobs that are really important for the running of society, like we seen with the pandemic. Large Language Models are definitely here and are going to make a massive impact no doubt. I think if used for organising and arranging ideas and outcomes vetted by human, rather than used as substitute for creativity and talent then I reckon they could provide a brilliant tool for advancing all aspects of life. The outputs are only going to be as smart as the folk using it. What is it the computer programmers say...? GIGO - Garbage In, Garbage Out. So the outputs will only be as smart as the questions asked. There will no doubt be major structural changes, some for the good, some not so good... depending on what sector you're in, whether you have good questions to ask and how agile you are. Keep up the good work Darren.

One of the difficult aspects when it comes to regulation of AI is a lot of the models, if not most, can run on a local computer that isn't reliant on the internet in any way. So if you go about it in a knee-jerk sort of way by doing something drastic like banning access to github (a popular repository for open source code), you'll harm a lot of innocent IT industry professionals.

One major benefit of MP's using Twitter is the ability for constituents to see how little they actually do if the poor excuse I have is anything to go by. Two thirds of his twitter feed contains the words 'honoured' or 'privileged' followed by some reference to his latest jolly that has nothing to do with his role or those he was elected to serve. Whether it be hosting a party after the Brit Awards or swanning around in New York on St Andrews Day he certainly does a fine job of doing very little. I even know where he was hen you were due to play Gala, not that he would dare show his face amongst the great unwashed, it is after all not the type of thing his well heeled contributors would be seen dead at so he avoided Scotland entirely and doubtless racked up a few more privileged memories funded by the public purse.

Every human invention from language, writing, religion and money to Aeroplanes, cars and computers have had both very good and very bad consequences. In terms of Art and Music, people may lose their livelihoods and the industry may suffer but I don’t believe that the gift of Art and Music has anything to do with money and artistically we will thrive in an environment where AI runs free.

It’s considerably easier for AI to replace the nice people who ‘work from home’ than it is to build a robot bricklayer It could be said the nice people who ‘work from home’ are already on a technology furlough scheme paid for by people who actually do things in our economy, like me The thing is, when technology eventually replaces me and my mates, the economy will not be able to afford a furlough scheme, so we get to be what we’ve always been… Poor
