I stumbled upon your channel while in research about storytelling in blogs, as I'm presently pulling back, rebranding, and restarting. The video you did was proclaiming that the story was not king, and while hearing your message, I was drawn by the detail you placed in your vids. I had to make sure that that wasn't a one-off, so I found this vid, and again, I'm impressed. Kudos to the commenter in that previous vid who called it, that you're consistent. Thanks for your content.

Every time I watch your videos, I'm amazed with the amount of work you do for all of your shots. Specifically, any of them where the exterior of your car is in and you're driving, or you're walking away/towards the camera, because I know that the camera has to be placed and set up, and then you do the action. It's time-consuming, lots of planning and forethought must have gone into them, and the end result is absolutely incredible. (Picks up jaw from floor. Again.)

2. Gear: As someone spending lots of time outdoor shooting video: Wear waterproof pants. You would have been dead cold if you had been stuck or delayed with pants that wet. Freezing when outdoor is the most unnecessary thing. Just wear better clothes, and you can stay out all day with no problem. Lovely pictures. Fog and snow is magical.

I'm absolutely loving the new niche you've found yourself in, outdoor videography is what I love and found a passion for. I live in Washington state and I'm fairly new to this hobby in general and I'm just wondering how much precaution I should take with weather and my Sony a7iii. Can I have it in the rain, snow, what kind of precautions would you recommend when filming outdoors.
@TheFlyFishingFilmmaker2 жыл бұрын
Nice! I'm in WA too!
@AidinRobbins2 жыл бұрын
Appreciate the kind words! I'm not too familiar with the a7iii in particular, but as with any camera it's at risk if you're shooting in the rain. I don't use any gear to protect mine when shooting (but I don't recommend this haha), just try to wrap up quickly so it's not exposed for too long and give plenty of time to dry out after shooting

Awesome video Aidin! I absolutely love the way you grade your snow footage, and the effort you put into capturing this video. I know that hike is already tough without snow! I tried to get out to Shenandoah National Park the other day for some snow shots but they closed down skyline drive so I had to resort to somewhere closer to me, which ended up being pretty awesome. Snow can completely transform a landscape, so even spots closer to home can become more interesting, as I've found. Thanks for the tips Aidin!
