The wide angle of the waterfall from within the stream, but any PS tricks to restore the waterfall to its proper prominence that the wide angle minimizes?

Difficult choice but I would say the photos taken handheld and framed with the ferns and some with long exposure.

Those waterfall shots with the ferns were stellar, but for me, these majestic trees and reflections in the river at the end take the crown. But frankly, I loved all of these shots - what a fantastic location!

What a great example of how to work a scene. You really tried a variety of angles, focal lengths, exposures and moved around in a fairly small area. I think many of us are not that patient to stay in one place. We feel like we might miss something and as a result we end up with average images. Thanks for the reminder of how to work a scene.

Indeed a good "what to do as a photographer when hiking" video! Also i noticed how a "landscape" photographer after some years of getting masters, they then explore other aspects of photography such as details photography as you do, or wildlife etc. Its like you are getting a level-up.

All of those images were more than cool, Michael, they were genius. The first session, in front and steps to the side of the waterfall, are my favourites (with the faster shutter speed). And the forest and stream images too... these I think are all ageless. The slow shutter on water (if I'm allowed to say) will be an era in photography. As someone always says "It's purely subjective." Absolutely love your channel. You make my eyes pop!

I think you are my favourite landscape photographer on KZbin, you have pulled out so many compositions from that landscape it’s inspiring. Great work. In the area you filmed this do you have bears? We don’t have dangerous wild life in the UK (except in town on Saturday nights!), we killed all those hundreds of years ago, so I am always intrigued how you safely enter forests in the US?
@MichaelShainblum

Wow, thank you so much for the kind words. We have some bears here on the west coast, mainly black bears. In all my time shooting/exploring in CA/OR, I have only encountered two and they were both in the Eastern Sierras though, both ran away when they saw us. I am a little more concerned with Mountain Lions than bears out here. I also run into Coyotes every other day or so on the trails here, but they also run away pretty fast when they see me.
