Check the temperature adjustment, cause they tend to set that to about 30° C "plus". I did some check on my A9 Pro and the "lovely" A5s (nice to work with the A5 when using the adjustable hand piece) and on all of them the factory setting been 30° C plus! And that was too hot compared to measured real temperature. I put that to zero, and then it is fine. You can find the adjustment infos in the manual. My A9 plus will come to my place in the next days. I ordered it, cause I need 4 temp. settings for my work. Thanks for sharing this video! 🙂

Yes you are right - I don’t remember off the top of my head but I did have to adjust the temp with a probe to make it more accurate .

I been working with JBC stations for more than 15 years, but they never really did any upgrades on stations like more temperature memories, and easier and faster way of storing temperatures, and also with no upgrades they kept raising the prices. A handpiece (245) from JBC is 80,- Euros here in Germany, ....... I had the Aifen A5 including temp. control hand piece for 60,- Euros. And Aifen did the missing upgrades that JBC never did. I asked JBC many many years ago for upgrades like more temp. storage places, ......... nothing happened. Aifen now did the 4 temp´s, (I asked them for that months ago) and they have the super fast temp storage, plus the hand pieces with temp control. The only think I would like to see is a bit more heavy station shell, cause that is pretty light weight, and so can move easily. But now working daily with the Aifen stations since last year march, (having sold my JBC stations) I do not miss anything about the JBCs. Aifen is even a bit faster in heating I guess. 🙂

That is really great to hear - I don't have first hand experience with JBC stations but really love the design. The Aifen is a really great station so far!

Just laughing again, cause indicating the active preset button and showing the choosen temperature on the right side, been also my proposal I made last year, after working a while with the pro. I told them to put 4 temps, an indicator for the preset button, and the choosen temp. ha ha ......... so they listened to me as it seems!

So glad you did - so far this is my favorite soldering station ever! Good feedback.

@@flippedout Got my A9 Plus few days ago, and now I am working with it every day. It seems its even a bit faster heating than A5 or A9 Pro, and really like the "finally 4 temp settings" I needed so much. In my work I have to adjust the temp all few seconds sometimes, big fat soldering points on potentiometers, tiny little ones on small switches, very tiny guitar pickup wires, ....... and all these different situations within minutes. The 3 temps just not been enough, I always needed a 4th temp setting. Now this works like a charme, and I am really happy about that. And "no", I paid the regular price for it, ..... but I asked them, about some discharge, cause they used my input (I had sent them some more infos about possible improvements) to get the A9 Plus to production .... "3 euros" .... ha ha ha ..... lol! I decided to not even use the 3 euro coupon, and pay the normal price and feel better with that! The chinese are pretty funny sometimes, ..... and can also show a pretty ugly side very fast! Happened when I had problems with the A9 Pro ..... so always keep that in mind, when doing any business straight with chinese people!

Great review! How do you set the sleep temperature?
@flippedout4 күн бұрын
Thanks for your feedback - to set the sleep temperature you just hold the CH3 key and turn the unit on. You can select 0,150,180, or 200c standby temps. I just left it at the factory default of 0 degrees because it heats up so fast.

I've been watching many options of soldering stations and thus look very promising. But i want to buy full set of handles and tips (3 handles - 9 tips) some link for that?
@flippedout16 күн бұрын
I bought the 3-pack too. This is the one I bought because it wasn't much difference in price from buying the 2 handles independently. The 245 handle in this kit doesn't have the buttons on the iron like the one that came with my station - but works fine. www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805409434892.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.81.468f1802ySEIgO&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa

I selected the station with a 245 handle and 3 tips and so bought the following extra tips. www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806116720410.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.53.468f1802ySEIgO&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806215904859.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.80.468f1802ySEIgO&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa

Hi! Is Aifen A9 pro better than A9 plus?
@flippedout13 күн бұрын
@@user-gl3kf1wb2o The A9 plus is the newest (2024) version. The main difference is that they incorporated the solder splash guards over the two tip cleaning areas. The second thing is that they updated the display and have 4 preset iron temps instead of 3 on the pro. I would recommend the plus over the pro but I’m sure both are fair.
