What I love about these older broadcasts is a big event would happen and they would not speak and just pan around the stadium to allow the viewers to listen to the sounds of the game and fans. Now it's just an endless blab fest.

There’s something I wish we could see again- a World Series game in the daytime.

Up until and including 1984, the Saturday and Sunday games Of the World Series we’re still daytime games. With the exception of Game 6 of the 87 World Series, there hasn’t been one since. Sadly, that’s not going to change.

Daniel Zanier there’s only one advantage to all night games and that’s the sun. The games are now into late October and early November and the glare is awful in some stadiums at that time. But my favorite configuration was weekend games in daytime and night games during the week

Daniel Zanier ironically what hurt day games was the 75 WS. Rainouts pushed games 6 and 7 to weeknights and prime time and the ratings went through the roof. 1985 was first all night WS but handwriting was on the wall.

They were hit in consecutive innings, bottom of the 1st and 2nd. The first time a player hit two homers in two games of the same World Series.

That is Dickie Noles pitching on the 2nd homer. Soon after this, he threw his famous knockdown pitch at George Brett in the 4th inning.

That's awesome that you remember that. Where do the Royals draw their fanbase from? Is it Western Missouri and Kansas. I know that in Ilinois there's a Cubs-Cards dividing line. I live in New York and grew up watching the Mets. When I lived in New York City most Mets fans were Queens (obviously) and some of Manhattan (old Giants fans). Brooklyn was split because of the old (Dodgers fans). But in the Hudson Valley - Capital Area there's nearly as many Red Sox fans as are Mets. For a 2012 and 2013 you couldn't get Mets games on the radio.

Nationally people dont realize how stacked this KC team was... offensively... if not for the drug scandals and the drugs, no telling. Brett, Willie Wilson, Aikens, Otis, White, McRae... Sick lineup.

Could not get by the Yankees in the late 70s then lost to a great Phillies team in 1980. They had a stacked lineup but weak pitching

Why not show the next batter's at bat fastball right to head wish pitchers still did that today to many arrogant jackasses in sports today. Like to see anyone hit a homerun off of Bob Gibson and watch it go over the fence. Mike Schmidt said his biggest mistake was hitting his first homerun off Gibson everyone in the dugout just looked at him and said that was stupid took, Gibson a year till he beaned Schmidt

If I'm not here and I'm not there where am i ......you don’t want that to happen if you’re a pitcher then don’t give up the homerun

They didn't show it because even if it did happen it's asinine. So you wish pitchers threw at the batter's head? Let me guess, it's part of the game. Batters are arrogant jerks for watching a home run? LoL. But let me guess, when the pitcher celebrates a strikeout that's okay. Pitchers are the arrogant ones. They get sand inside their vaginas because the batter watches it land. Big deal. Chances are the next time up the batter will make an out. Then it's the pitcher who can celebrate. Don't like the batter watching a home run? Then don't give up any. The pitchers are like, "Oh, you looked at the baseball too long. You showed me up! Wahhhhh!"

Wasn't Schmidt supposed to hit home runs? That would be like him throwing his bat at Gibson every time he struck him out.
