In the past O'Sensei and his students were less formal at the moment to given back the weapon to the Uke. Nowadays there is an excess of theatrical postures.

Were you there? Because, depending on whom you ask, some of his students said he was often very strict on protocol. Especially Kobayashi Hirokazu (post-war). O Sensei was also very focused on sword related etiquette because of his connection to religion. The etiquette has a reason to be. Without it, there's no Budo.

@@seidobudostudies I don't know if you speak French, basically this video expose how the O'Sensei practice of Jo and Bokken was totally free of the traditional Japanese stereotypes and preconceived movements and katas. Both weapons were subordinated to the principles of Aiki, and not the opposite. He used to switch the use of the Jo as a Bokken, and the Bokken as a Jo at will. Later on, some of his students, in an effort to systematize his practice, developed some sort of katas and structures, that later on became in to a totally rigid, stereotyped and unnatural practice of Aikido, subordinating the principles of Aiki under a supposed Japanese Martial tradition of the use of weapons. That's why nowadays we see styles like Iwama, so far away from the natural, fluid and spontaneous Aikido of the founder, and the most funny part, is that they proclame they do the "real Aikido of the founder". Je parles français oui, et japonais également. Cette vidéo : - Enfonce des portes ouvertes sur beaucoup de points (aucun interêt donc). - Ne démontre en rien que Ueshiba ne pratiquait pas l'étiquette, encore moins qu'il ne l'enseignait pas. - Dit des choses partiellement fausses, notamment sur l'absence de Kata. (Demandez donc à Saito d'un coté, ou Kobayashi Hirokazu d'un autre coté...) - Dit que le Jo et le Bokken était interchangeables, ce qui est partiellement vrai sur la fin de sa vie. Partiellement car ce n'était par exemple absolument pas le cas lorsqu'il pratiquait ses danses sacrées, dans lesquelles le Katana avait alors un caractère sacré, tel que défini dans les canons de la religion Shinto. Cette vidéo présente une opinion. L'opinion de quelqu'un qui n'apporte aucun argument solide si ce n'est sa propre interprétation de ce qu'il voit mais n'a pas vécu. Lorsqu'on fait cela, il faut être prudent et ne rien affirmer sans caution. 決して腕や足腰が居ついているわけではないので、個人的には完全な力技ではないと見ています。 一度技を受けさせていただいたことがありますが、柔軟な体を中心から大きく使われているので、速さ・重さがとてつもなく乗せられるという印象でした。油断して受けると大怪我しそうな重さでした...。

@歩廊下 戦前の演武とか見てみなさいな。今の合気会をはじめとした師範なんて机上の空論状態じゃ無いか。今時そこら辺の有段者よりブラジリアン柔術の黒帯の方が本当の意味での柔術を理解してるよ
