I am excited to start my journey of Aikido. I love the Morihei Ueshiba's outlook and philosophy and I am looking forward to studying. I have been in 3 different martial arts and this one is far different than the others.

Aikido is not a martial art, its a budo. Bujutsu transformed to budo.

Aikido is not a martial art; rather, it serves as a demonstrative form of combat, providing a platform for practice instead of engaging in actual combat. It distinguishes itself as more than just a "combat" system, embodying a collection of principles, spiritual concepts, and theories on movement, spacing, and timing. These principles can be applied to more specific martial arts within taijitsu or kobudo, encompassing disciplines like judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu (essentially derived from judo), kenjitsu, or okinawa-te/karate. The ultimate objective for any practitioner of Aikido extends beyond mere proficiency in physical combat, resembling that of a cage or prize fighter. Instead, the aim is to cultivate a spiritually harmonious individual endowed with high intellect, sensitivity, and a resolute will

Does you tube pay these people a commission on these videos or has copyright expired? Just curious!
@AikidoCenterLA2 жыл бұрын
We hold the copyright to these videos but someone in India uploaded them first and KZbin gave them the copyright so we make no money from. That's why we put the full videos on KZbin for free! Thanks for asking.

Knife attacks are not like that, an assailant with a 🔪 will not thrust and stop his attack so the aikido expert can do his technique...

@@malcolmjelani3588 OK, so please explain exactly how would an aikido expert deal with an attacker armed with a knife 🗡 in a real life situation,,, I train in pak hok pai kung fu and I would be really stressed if I faced with someone armed with a knife 🗡 and believe me, I'm not trolling aikido, it' actually 1 of the arts I started training in.
