Killer presentation, Jason (and Andre). I like the way you teach initial head protection. The key is to quickly shake the stun after a surprise hit, then move in "with combinations". Go right to the key targets...eyes, joints, throat...since you were jumped...don't play games. Just finish the job quickly....then "get outta there".

Four days ago a group of men relaxing in a park in Reading were attacked by a man with a knife, 3 killed (RIP) and 3 injured: There really are threats that can strike anywhere any time. Situational awareness needs learning everybody!
@dakotablount2514 жыл бұрын
Hell that's why people who did time tend to be extremely alert. Any time of day you could get attacked. Bed, shower, lunch, etc. You learn situational awareness if you have to.

Good advice guys. Another technique is to move. When I was surprise attacked with a punch to the jaw, I moved out of the way of the second attack and the third and the fourth. His fifth triggered my surprise attack. Front kick to solar plexus, immediately followed with elbow and wrist lock and foot sweep, driving him hard into the concrete street gutter. I dislocated his elbow and broke his jaw when he hit the gutter edge. He woke up in handcuffs. He was 24, I was 49. Experience counts.

Yep you mentioned reaction time years ago about striking in first 5 to 10 seconds defines the fight. And its so true. I've used it few times with junkies and muggers who wanted my wallet and work's a treat block strike lock and break the arm has saved my butt many times and I'm only 5"4 so it's a must as once I get a hold of a arm or leg I'm not letting go until I control them

Hello there Jason. Great presentation, interesting topic. There r two types of attacks, Premeditated and Spontaneous. Premeditated assaults r dun with intent, when you’re off guard. Spontaneous assaults occur over an argument, disagreement or drunk. AikidoFlow, keeping it real. Thank u.

Thanks for the Video! I feel there are good and true advices. May I allowed to add a trick as well. When you get attacked from nowhere, you will be shaken and get some desorientated. This is something you need to train. Trick: do a training with a partner and a "cushion". spinn yourself several times around with head low. Then try to hit the "cushion"

Palm strikes are a viable alternative and the many of these vids I have watched none of these so called "masters" use them. Sure my philosophy was for so long, "Elbow first, arm out b/c it extends". But understanding the diametric of CQC it is something that should be taught.
@Die7Ringe4 жыл бұрын
Palm strikes are vital!!. A yap may end in a broken Hand - quite often. Elbows are sometimes to hard- and damadge to much. Palm strikes can be applied with different force, to serveral areas. Good alternative!

You need to make sure you have your hands out of your pockets to make sure you can defend yourself! It is good to be aware of the contents of your pockets for a knife,keys,pens and anything pointy. With something pointy you can strike vital body parts,the face,ears and throat.

It seems to me that placing your hands in a neutral position already means that you are prepared and aren't really being surprised. What about if you are truly surprised?

I may be a fool, but I thought that I wanted to send you a picture, nevertheless it turned out awesome , but I don't seem to have the technology to send anything, where I wanted for it to go. I also assume that I got kicked out, and also that that, could have been a video that was made in 2014 or something, and smelled like something that I had got ripped off, out from underneath me, before, etc. Wish I could send a picture etc.
