mmm I think that in some of the "morihei ueshiba y el aikido" videos they said that Morihei Ueshiba was in the army in WW1, but he was soon assigned to teaching martial arts to soldiers. Maybe someone of you can confirm in which of the videos is that said. But he did for sure work as bodyguard for Onisaburo Deguchi.

yeah. Admiral Isamu Takeshita was it. An important character on O'Sensei's life. Maybe, the one who made possible for O'Sensei to continue on evolving aikido. In the previous post, I just wanted to point out that AFAIK, the context of O'Sensei and aikido is more about streets (1 on 1, many on 1,...) and bodyguarding (remember daito-ryu's origins) that about war. Context is important. Porcierto: tiene narices que hablando los dos español (creo), nos comuniquemos en inglés :P
