@@SummerBayJournal in that case any 2000 clips looking for lances 1st return scene as a kid that shocked me said oh my god thats lance smart how is he back then it hit me hard he was sallys half uncle a lovely twist it was so right that made sallys 21st a big episode because you had all of sallys friends there and jack would love to see it again in full as when i taped it in 2000 it had no sound in my itv region so missed the party fun near the end

It was a silly storyline.. and the resolution is disappointing. I bet we never heard his name again. I understand his anger towards his sister, I wish for them to at least share a hug and for him to forgive her. but nope. he just faded..

I don't think the story was silly but I agree the ending certainly was, and in turn that made the whole story feel rather pointless. I think it was actually quite an interesting story with lots of potential. For all these years Ailsa believed she'd saved her family from a violent man, but her brother ended up being abused in foster care anyway. It was also one of the few times the show acknowledges that not all foster parents are saints, touching on the fact that some kids in care suffer horrific abuse. Tony wanting to kill Ailsa was unnecessary sensationalism in what could have been an otherwise touching and interesting story; the ridiculous sudden ending proving this, as they wrote him into a corner almost from the start. You are right, after the final scene in this clip the storyline is never discussed again. We don't even see Ailsa talk it over with Alf or anything.

@@SummerBayJournal I think the character of Ailsa is one of the most interesting characters of the show.. killing her off in 2000 was brutal. loved her relationship with Alf and her friendship with Pippa and Bobby..
