Sign language being a trend isn't actually that bad of an idea. 1. Deaf people will see the language and use it more now, thus possibly making words on tablets less used and could even make sign language more common so more deaf people will learn it. 2. People are learning to communicate with deaf people in a way other than text. 3. Learning a new language gets you clout in a non-harmful and non-stupid way. Might make some Karens mad, though so watch out. Some really don't like languages other than English.
@seifukufishy32643 жыл бұрын
Also, you can use it as a sort of "code language" with people, since no one will be able to over hear it, and they can't see what signs your making if they're far away enough. :)

Animation was actually originally invented for an adult demographic, even going as far as countries commissioning animators to make war cartoons in order to boost soldiers' morale. However, a lot of animators started to make children's cartoons to broaden the demographic. After Disney hit the scene, animation was almost exclusively considered to be for children.

Well.. as someone who grew up on a farm and still have to help in chicken houses (not chicken coupes) compared to my previous job experiences such as being a cashier, retail worker, daycare worker, server, and licensed hairdresser.. yea, I’d say there’s a huge difference there. Granted, work still sucks but those types of jobs just tend to suck more. A lot more. I still work part time as a stylist in a salon and my full time job is in a fab shop working as the prepainter (cleaning, sanding, bondo, sanding some more) on industrial type signs. Not to mention, I work in GA where the humidity alone will kill you in the summer. It’s ALWAYS 10, 15, even 20 degrees hotter in the shop than it is outside because of the welder, router, and the paint booth. I absolutely LOVE the days I get to work at the salon in the AC dealing with “Karen’s” who have no freaking clue what they want compared to sweating my nonexistent balls off doing hard labor in the fab shop or chicken houses. So my point behind this comment.. I do both. So I can speak on behalf of both and I strongly disagree.

The reactions to assault in this video are why I have never told a single person outside of my therapist and very close people in my life that I was assaulted as a child. I have to bear that shit in silence, I can’t seek comfort with fellow victims, I can’t go to support groups, I can’t own my shit, because someone will always look down on me, like I deserved it, or I could have stopped it, or somehow I wanted it, AT SEVEN... I can’t call out my attacker and ruin her life because not a soul on this planet will believe me over her. If you have ever told a man who has been taken advantage of any of this hateful, spiteful, ignorant shit, then you are lower than the bits of dog shit stuck in my shoe and the only thing I have to say to you is that I hope you rot in the lowest, darkest pit of hell.

I have never hear the term gatekeeping before, but I guess it's: "I'm feeling bad toda-" "NO. You can't feel bad because I *explains every little bad thing that happened in his life*"
@EripmavsDYraid2 жыл бұрын
The exact definition of gatekeeping is the activity of controlling, and usually limiting, general access to something, either physically, mentally, or digitally. But you got it rather close.
@approximateknowledge55773 ай бұрын
(Oops my comment is longer than Expected but whatever) Yeah, u used a pretty good/common example of gatekeeping. The other commenter is spot on with the definition. This can happen anywhere over anything- other common examples I see all the time are: -you're not a REAL fan if you don't know this/ only REAL fans will remember... -I have all of these things to do but still have 6-pack abs (or I'm a mom of 5), what's YOUR excuse... -you think u had it rough? My mom used to beat me with a shovel..... -u think you're tired? Try working construction for a million hours a day.... -you have back problems? You're too young to have real back problems - usuallynold ppl say this- (this one happened to me and my back problems came from being hit by a car LOL, I respond by saying "WOW I didn't know I was too young to be hit by a car whole crossing the street, I'll keep that in mind next time I have slipped disc's in my spine). -youre not a REAL American unless you (insert some politically specific thing here) The list is practically endless!! So many ppl are desperate for a moment of perceived superiority, it's sad and pathetic but not surprising. Don't let gatekeepers ever get you down or stop u from enjoying something that brings you happiness, comfort, solitude, or anything really) . I'm huge on calling out gatekeeping in Fandoms for music artists I care about because anyone is allowed to be a fan, whether they started listing 5 minutes ago or 15 years ago- doesn't matter (the support for my favorite artists is what matters + recommending more songs for a new fan to enjoy is a good time. I'm almost jealous as I'll never get to listen to my favorite song for the first time ever again but I'm stoked that they will and I hope they love it.)
