I enjoyed the humor it had, and I was 7 and didn't care about the concept of compelling story or gender-oriented entertainment, so I sat there and enjoyed the colorful moving blobs on the screen. 10 years later I've seen the New Generation movie and enjoyed the humor and found myself able to appreciate the storytelling that it did as well (it was certainly better than Cars 2). Now I have to deal with the fact that the entire fan base is horny for the characters and be grossed out at the things people say in reference to them such as a comic image referring to Twilight Sparkle as the artist's self-proclaimed spouse.

I actually feel bad for the person who said, “How’s having friends the standard?…” I can relate on some level. On tv you see kids characters being able to hang out with friends on a daily basis.
