Appreciate how you break down where these brands use their manufacturers from and compare the pricing and quality between the pieces
@kevinauyeung86 ай бұрын
Yeah with higher cost brands, I think it’s important to know what you’re paying for. Knowing things like it comes from a factory that pays their staff properly but at the same time not hiking the price too much for the customers is really important as a brand imo.

This video was spot on. I ordered 2 t-shirts from ALD, Apr. 7 2024 it’s now May 12, 2024 and I’ve yet to receive my order. The refund policy is horrible, there’s no line you can call, everything is via email and they take days to respond. Due to their return policy and the carelessness they show I will not be shopping for ALD moving forward.

100%. It's similar to Supreme in a way where because there's so much hype, people are willing to keep the products even if it's not right or damaged.

Great video! Quick question for you, what’s the sizing like? Does it run small, large, true to size?
@kevinauyeung83 ай бұрын
That’s kind of the problem with ALD. Unlike brands like Uniqlo, studio Nicholson where sizings are consistent, when you have so many different styles and manufacturers your products will have inconsistency within them. I think in general they are true to size. But some could be over or under

You’re a little biased. ALD definitely isn’t worth it. Any hype-beast brands are inherently not worth it. The prices are heavily inflated due to market demand. Are the products actually worth the asking price? No! The materials are definitely not worth the asking price. You displayed this by showing their supply/sources which are priced much much cheaper which leaves you with the question is ALD as a brand worth the markup? And the honest answer is no - it never is! Is the leather used to make Gucci sneakers any better than the leather on Stan Smiths and Samba? Maybe, but it’s definitely not worth the 500+ markup.
@kevinauyeung8Ай бұрын
Worth is relative. I’m compare it to other brands who are operating in the same realm. Higher cost garment will have lower diminishing return in quality. Obviously when comparing to Uniqlo or Zara it’s not going to seem like a good comparison. But there are other things like second hand value that ALD has over low cost brands. I don’t buy much of their products, but given the small batch, resell value (which is a big factor) and quality. I think it’s fair asking price. Ultimately, if you really like a piece, then I think it’s always worth it imo.😃
@NateWilliams-dn7nfАй бұрын
@@kevinauyeung8 there’s different aspects that go into brand value. If you’re determining value strictly based on the ratio - material costs/retail cost then it’s definitely not worth it. Simply put, the quality isn’t worth the retail cost. If I stripped an ALD tee of all its ALD brand symbols it wouldn’t even sell for (ALD asking) retail. I said your video is biased b/c the quality simply isn’t worth it. It’s not like these shirts even have heat/cool tech capabilities. BUT, if you’re buying for resale value and you believe it will maintain its value then IG that’s entirely up to your perception of the resale market. Also, if you got money like that then I guess it doesn’t matter. I think you can see my point here which is objectively - none of this is worth it b/c the materials cost/retail price (ratio) is simply bonkers. Realistically, the average retail price of an ALD Tee is 3x the material cost of the same Tee. The resale price is probably like 5x-6x the material cost. I also want to add I’m from Queens NYC. This brand is heavily overrated. All of the brand logos are literally our local signage. Search up the (NYC) Queens Theater, and the Queens Borough Flag. The two flowers ALD logo is a copy of the Queens crest which is on the flag. The drawing of the Queens Theater is the logo that you typically see on their caps. The brand symbols are literally identical to these local signs. The logo designs aren’t creative. I appreciate your review tho - you did track down the suppliers.
@kevinauyeung8Ай бұрын
Yeah I agree with you 100%. People who are comfortable buying ALD can obviously afford it. If you don't have the disposable income for it then it's definitely not something I'd recommend. Especially now with the price increase, I think it's quite hard to justify now as a Tee has gone up 20% in price.
