One that I learned, you hold for 15 seconds and rest for 45; you do that for an hour. Doesn’t seem like much but builds strength. You can do 20 and 40 or 30 30 if you want to challenge yourself. Great video, just what I needed.

timer app on the mobile, set times to 35 sec exercise (which is drawing back, holding / aiming, letting the bow down) and 60 sec break, 9 sets ...4 x 9 sets per training session ...I use a Stan with a training lock for this to avoid any misfire, overall IMO one of the best exercises you can do at home. Eta: some words of warning... I highly recommend securing the release with a wrist band / strap or something similar and apply some measures to prevent accidental misfire (I love the Stan trainings lock) for this kind of training...obviously there will be a lot of shaking at the end of a trainings session and letting the bow down in a controlled manner becomes harder and harder...and you might start with a holding time that suits you....otherwise it is a fantastic way to improve your own performance...

@@WM-jy9dz Yes, a dry fire also means losing your grip if u relax too much & have the release come out of your hand. That's why I use the pin lock with my Wartorn Archery training device. Then I shoot both my Perfex & SC-3 with an arrow on the bow. Really helps me when I do go to shoot that I use back tension & pull through the shot. I did put a strap on my Last Chance Archery HS2 which tells me my poundage & leftoff on different bows. I just girth-hitched it with 550 paracord.

Been using surgical rubber for years. Works well. PS, a gallon water jug has a handle and weighs just over 8-lbs. Also works well. (If 8-lbs is too much weight for the archer, just don't fill the jug full)

No one EVER talks about training your muscles and stretching your holding arm, I find it crazy as it's the most important part of getting that pin to sit still. It's been so important for me as my shoulder has had issues. Stretching your lats and traps before shooting is so important. Great video man

Thank you for this valuable info. One must do these exercises religiously to maintain your stamina and strength. It doesn't take long. People waste more time at the social club gym than you will at home doing these drills. Include them in your regular routine.

After having a few surgery procedures and daily arthritis pain, I am going to give this a try. I've tried quite a few different things to get things back on track without success. Thanks for sharing.

I found what works best for me is to nock an arrow and hold full draw while using a non trigger training release. That way I am holding on target for extended periods and working on bow stability

Fantastic video, Sometimes I think a lot of shooters are just over bowed as well. The reason your shooting your best scores later into the indoor season is 1-obviously you may be shooting more. But 2- I think it’s cause many are shooting at the high end of the spectrum of what they can truly handle for a 600 round , plus warmup and practice arrows. You should shoot strong through the last arrow. Not being tired at the end. If you are you, your shooting a bit too much. Especially with the higher holding weight we are shooting as target archers.

Excellent. I just bought some resistance bands and have almost not shot for a month because of weather (cold "and or" rain) and being sick. This will be great. Thank you again 🏹🤠👍.

Thank you! I'm currently "training" my indoor archery, still working on a 300. Average is about 295 (15x), current PB is 298 (20x). My current struggle is I'm getting pin movement as I'm executing the release on some shots (typically it's 1 out of the 3 shots in an end). Not sure what's causing it, as most of my shots I'm steady enough through the whole shot to hit the X.

I totally agree👍. It is a great time to do these things now. My season ends December 31st. I like to do a reset like u would do on a computer. Then I work on shot execution. My whole life I wore a safety belt in a 🌳. Had to switch jobs cuz of that clavicle problem wearing a full body harness @ work. I had days of pain driving 25 to 30 miles 🏡 after work. The problem was I'm very limber & the safety aspect of the full body harness was hurting me more than it was helping. Always 🌳 hunted with a tether hooked to a safety belt around my waist. If a person doesn't have their bow set @ too high of poundage early in the year as long as they have enough back tension to execute the shot they r training the right way. Building up like staying with the rise in temps outside while u wait for the temps to get more reasonable so u can actually go outside & shoot. I shoot both a Perfex & a SX-3. The SX-3 is my goto. I keep the Perfex locked on the d-loop with the safety pin on of my Wartorn Archery shot training device in its case. Then if I am planning on doing some blank bailing in the basement I have a couple of tuff SEVR targets stacked downstairs. I then clip the SX-3 on after I take the Perfex off. After I feel that I'm ready I will shoot the targets with my micro arrows. It helps to put a weight on the threaded area of the Wartorn. I also put a paracord loop & wrapped the grip with guaze until it feels like your bow grip. It's important not to take the SEVR targets outside until there r leaves on the trees. Those micros really penetrate & the self healing foam freezes around your arrows. March is my big scouting month & I climb many 🌳 setting them up to return to in the fall. The exercise from that really gets me ready to return to outside shooting on a regular basis. When I still hunted out of stands I would hook up my tether facing the 🌳 so when I started saddle hunting it wasn't a big change. But I had a bow I didn't shoot well that was easy to shoot in the saddle. My hunting bow was different with my tether going up on the 🌳 @ my chin. That draw cycle was harsher especially just b4 the letoff kicked in. I fixed that by buying a new in the box Prime Centergy which had full warranty with the price of a used bow. Now it's my backup to my Nexus 4. Similar draw cycle & they r both tuned to shoot the same arrows. Sorry this was long but maybe someone who had target panic @ the end of 2021 will read it & try this process which has made me better with time & a little bit of discipline.

Speaking of the stan perfex thumb release. Do you guys sell them at the shop you work? If so , can i order online? Can not find a medium anywhere. May just wait for the new release to drop. Thanks.

@insideoutprecision So the pro shop i took my bow to put a shorter d loop in and i also turned my limb bolts about 1 full turn which bottomed out my bow, but now at full draw it feels like my bow could let down easier on accident, almost like I'm not far enough back....could either of those things effect that? I can always add a half inch of DL via my mods but i think that will be too much
@InsideOutPrecision
@InsideOutPrecision 2 жыл бұрын
Put a longer loop back on so it doesn't feel short. And then you'll be holding a few more lbs. at full draw now so you won't be able to relax as much

Does it make a difference if you just tie around your peep to tie it in versus tying above and below the peep ? And what grip do you recommend for the 2022 trx 36 ?
@InsideOutPrecision
@InsideOutPrecision 2 жыл бұрын
If you only tie around it there's still the possibility it can move up and down. I like the ultra view bee real grip or the side plates

I need to try these, as I get older it gets harder to hold the bow steady. It must be because the bows are getting heavier. LOL
