AIMTOM Portable Solar Generator - Teardown & Repair Pt. 1

Hello folks, 🔋BattTube here. Today we will be doing a teardown on an Amazon AimTom "42000"mah Portable Solar Generator. We will be going through the current issues with the power bank and taking it apart to look over the components to see if we can find the bad PCB component. Having a look at the MPPT chip region and the BMS region but they looked fine. I believe the issue has to do with the controller on the PCB they use as a "manager" for the whole power station, Making sure the inverter is fine as well as the other components like the battery and bms as well as the MPPT solar-related stuff.

Just wondering ac plug just stopped working on mine thinking of a blown fuse, opening it up I see that the fuse did pop so I replaced it but putting everything back fuse keeps popping which is annoying.

if it is only on recharge what power block are you using? it should be 15-24V/2A per Aimtom which i have used a 12V/2A(only charges to 50% charge) 15V/2A and a 20V/1.5A(just ones i had on hand) and did find that the 20v/1.5A charged it way faster with less heat. it would take 8hrs with a 12V/2A to get 50% or with a 15V/2A 8hrs to get 100% and around 4-6hrs on the 20V/1.5A. I am guessing that a 22V or 24V 2A would charge it in 4hrs or less at 2A. Aimtom did say it is 2 amp limited which is why i would like to add a 2.5mm barrel plug directly to the pack so i can hook up a MPPT solar controller that is way better than the cn3722 chip that is on the board. as for the shorting look at the wires for a rubbed off or burn through spot or the inverter lines not tight enough. This is what all 3 of mine did before dying totally and I didn't discover the issue until to late. 2 were going to the inverter and one was within the 3s7 battery pack and was shorting on a second part of the battery pack. it looked pinched like the battery moved and hit it at some point.

That chip you couldn't find is not a JXY-F020LV but instead it is a JXY-FC20LV at least on mine and google only pulls up a aliexpress result that is no longer avaliable. I need a replacement for that chip if you or anyone can help I'd be sooooooo appreciative! I also am really interested in the rebuild with QC and a new bms/mppt control board. i have 3 of these that are dead in the same way. i heard a spark and than the unit would no longer charge the LEDs stay on for battery level but faded and it slow drains. I would love to take all 3 3s7 packs and combine them as well as adding a daisy chain port with like a dc to dc converter so I can use a AGM or other camper type lifepo battery to increase it's discharge time ability.(i have 1000w 5x 200w 14v-23.9v solar panels for charging and a decent MPPT(100v/30a) unit at least for the 12v or 24v or 36v or 48v output). I have minimum 2 CPAP units at around 75w each if heaters are off or 180w if they are on that i NEED to power for a week at a time(20hrs of wattage a day((10hr sleep max each the current unit can handle 1 for around 10 hours)). Plus phones and maybe tablets to charge. I also have a DC power cooler fridge that takes a lot of power at least until i fix the recirculation fan and add a temp sensor for shut off.
