Re: 4:20 - A bit of context: Ainz used a 10th tier spell, [Silent Magic: Stop Time], in Yggdrasil this would freeze up any player/npc without time spell resistance/immunity, but also cause all attacks to be ineffective towards them during that time. By using the [Delay Magic] metamagic, you can time it so that the spell hits at the same moment that [Stop Time] elapses, securing the kill before the opponent can cast buffs or otherwise resist the instant death spell. This however requires _very_ precise timing, and only 5% of all players could pull it off consistently. Ainz was obviously among those 5%. Moreover, [True Death] which Ainz has cast is an instant death spell with an added curse that resurrection magic cannot be used, unless the caster is able to cast [True Resurrection] or a higher tier version. Since [True Resurrection] is tier 9, it pretty much guarantees no one in the new world would be able to resurrect Gazef, as per his wish to not be resurrected. In Yggdrasil, it was a way to prevent players from resurrecting in the middle of a battle, they would be forced to wait the respawn cooldown, and respawn back at their spawn point (safe zone or guild HQ) Ainz used a minmaxed PVP tactic that he would employ against another level 100 player when PKing, compare that with how he killed Clementine, who was about the same level, and it should give you an idea about the respect Ainz showed Gazef here, despite a ~70 level difference.

The amount of respect Ainz showed Gazef should not be underestimeted. He agreed to the duel, followed all the rules of a duel including making sure his enemy had a weapon that could actually be effective, offered to ressurect Gazef, honored his wish not to be ressurrected by using a spell that enured he stays dead, showed him the honor of not holding back at all in the fight, didn't damage his body, treated the corpse with respect, pulled back his army to honor his bravery, respected his wishes to have the sword returned to the kingdom. And last but not least, outright saying he liked the man. Gazef was a real man.

He wasn’t pay to win at all. He literally only played to role play the character, not to battle or become strong. It’s actually the opposite of what he seems…he made his build pretty weak compared to what it could have been. And he was a collector of things, not to use, but to collect. So he paid for that stuff. And had a lot of special items that could only be gotten by doing certain things (like having zero life outside the game, which is how he got that Christmas mask at the beginning of the show LOL)

Also, a ton of the stuff in nazarick are everything the guild got together or left behind that they personally had when they quit. So most of the stuff he has is from 40+ guild members collections

3:40 : Regarding the sword. When Ainz says it's a sword that may kill him, that doesn't mean it's anywhere near plausible for him to be killed by someone wielding this sword. It's just that it's not nullified by his passive immunity. Gazef hit one of the baby goats on the leg earlier and did deal damage, but that's still insignificant. A level 100 character like Ainz has far too much HP to be killed by Gazef, he would have to stand still and let himself be cut down for at least several minutes without doing anything for Gazef to possibly exhaust his HP pool. Still, a weapon capable of inflicting wounds on him is the minimum requirement for a duel, otherwise that would be an execution. It also implies something a bit grim. This sword is the cause of Gazef's death. If he didn't have it, Ainz wouldn't have accepted a duel because Gazef wouldn't have met the minimum requirement. He'd have shown Gazef his immunity and would have told him to come back when he's at least capable of harming him.

Right, it's implied to be an item crafted with non-Yggdrasil magic to bypass all damage immunities/resistances, and Ainz is interested in the sword specifically because it breaks the rules of Yggdrasil weapons. The anime doesn't really talk about it, but he's been collecting, studying, and reproducing/improving all unusual weapons Nazarick encounters (as he mentioned a few times, anything to increase their power and ability to use this world's materials instead of those the guild arrived with). Hence the improved Frost Pain he used against Dem- I mean, Jaldabaoth as Momon, as well as something coming later.

just a little bit of extra info. after albedo leaves momon after the altercation the mother start repeatedly slapping her child while crying asking him why he did such a thing only for the child to be confused himself as to why he did it. during that time the people start to come out and gather around momon who theorized out loud and warn that the child was likely manipulated by the theocracy or another third party to make him fight ainz. when the people question him about why it wouldn't have all been orchestrated by ainz he reply by saying that if it was then it would mean he was being truthful about his rule because it would benefit momon and the people way more than him since they would have a man on the inside to both gather information on their new ruler and sneak attack if need be. if it was the case then they would have to be even more worried about the theocracy and other outsider starting things because momon would have little choice but to cut them down himself since he makes it clear that he is willing to give ainz a chance so long has he holds his end of the deal. it puts the population in a situation where they are worried about their new ruler but even more worried about outsider plot to cause chaos so no one can really be hostile to ainz because it would mean being hostile to momon who saved them. basically the population of e rantel would be in check mate even if momon wasn't a double agent. momon being actually pandora's actor puts everyone else in check mate as well.

Re: 2:20 They haven't really discussed it in the anime, but a person cannot be resurrected unless they want to. A soul may decline resurrection, and Gazef said that he does not wish to be resurrected.

Also Ainz casted True Death which prevents resurrection unless the spell is 9th tier which no one in the New world has so it's basically guaranteed as well

when you see Ains, look for the glowing "world item" in his gut. If it's not there then its Pandoras Actor.

It's not a sure way. In S2E10 at least, in the trial of Tuare, it's Pandora's actor and he has the glowing orb in his chest. The best tells are his overacting and the way other denizens of Nazarick (Albedo in particular) interact with him.

@@jerrybeard8995 The laughs and emotion dampening happen after they switched back. At first it's Pandora's actor. They're worried Sebas has turned traitor, and they're not going to take risks. That's why it's Pandora's actor with Victim in his arms, as well as Demiurge and Cocytus present. We know it's him because of his overacting and disrespect: - Throwing a handkerchief at Sebas. Ainz is never disrespectful to the NPCs like this. - Asking if Sebas is a "Dog of the 41 supreme beings" before catching himself when asking about Sebas loyalty. Ainz never refers to his friends or himself as supreme beings, only NPCs do that. - GREATER... TELEPORTATION!!! Very uncharacteristic of Ainz to yell it like that. - Contrary to what you said, Pandora's actor doesn't make a decision. He tells Sebas to give him some time, that he doesn't think it's going to be death, but he can't make promises. That's because it's not his decision to make. The only thing PA did in this scene was to test Sebas and that play was prearranged. Then he teleports back to Nazarick, spends some time there and then Ainz comes back. That was only necessary so that PA could report to Ainz and switch. That's when he makes decisions and behaves like he always does. That's when he feels nostalgic and his emotions get dampened.

From what I recall using time stop and skills required pitch perfect timing on the user It was sort of a double edged sword as there are risks involved against certain players who can easily counter it Could be wrong but I think Touch me was an example

I think the next arc chronologically should be the movie but it was skipped over in season 4. There's a lot of issues with subtitles on crunchyroll where they were supposed to be referring to the empire/kingdom from what we will see in the movie but instead say the theocracy or something so it can be confusing.

actually the next arc is the empire one then the dwarf one. chronologically the movie is between the dwarf arc and the re estie arc. if the movie should have been right after season 3 they would have released it before season 4.

It's just that Maruyama and his team decided to write and publish the arcs separately instead of mixing them and going back and forth like some shows do, which honestly was a great decision for the plot, the downside is that people may miss the chronology if they don't pay attention

@@user-ju2jt8yh3i to be fair the holy kingdom operation took place over a rather long time and the empire and dwarven arc were very short time wise. the empire one was quite literally 3 days and the dwarven one wasn't much longer. considering the dwarf seen in the sorcerer kingdom and the fact the katze plain was taken over by the time the holy kingdom delegation visit most of the holy kingdom arc happens after. even if Maruyama decided to make everything perfectly chronological it would have barely amounted to an intermission at best because of the massive pacing difference if it even happened at the same time.

A big problem was that the Kingdom was politically dysfunctional and the catastrophic defeat would have had extreme consequences (more than just the huge death toll). Gazeef realised that the surviving nobles would have used the fact of his survival as evidence that the whole battle was a trap to destroy their power (remember that the battle had been almost a ritualistic stalemate for many years previously), and would have turned against the King. But no matter how much the noble factions disliked him, they couldn't argue against the sacrifice he made, or turn against the King in his grief. But Gazeef was also the last true trusted ally that the King had. Both Ainz and Gazeef had huge respect for each other. They would have ben great friends. It just simply wasn't possible.
