Air Arms S200 **FULL REVIEW** by RACKNLOAD

Have always overlooked this gun, as people always revue it as a starter PCP. Well a couple of weeks ago I handled one in .177 flavor for the first time, and liked it so much I purchased it, and on testing it I found it to be as accurate as any of my other guns, and I have a few, I decided this gun was so good, it would be worth spending a little money on it, so fitted a ten shot magazine and AA moderator and HUMA regulator and new fill port with gauge from XTX AIR plus bipod mount and sling, now get 70+ regulated shots at 11.6 foot pounds out of it. Out of the box I would say this is not a starter or junior rifle, but a good rifle for hunting etc, and as accurate as they come, with AA Fieds or JSB Exacts. So my advice to anyone is to forget the much used starter or junior PCP comments used by a lot of people for this gun, it is a good full powered gun out of the box, and well worth its asking price. +Birmingham Man Rixstaa I was lucky as I have a good relationship with my RFD, and did not pay full retail price for the gun. As for the magazine, I am aware of the problems associated with them, just hope I am one of the lucky ones, almost a full tin of pellets so far and not one problem yet, hope it stays that way. I think most of the problems stem from the after market magazine not being aligned properly, causing ware to the pellet probe O ring, but I use a small amount of pellet lube on my pellets, that may be a help in keeping the magazine O ring lubed, I use the lube on all my pellets to help stop dry rubber on dry rubber friction causing failure, not had a single problem with failure yet. Must agree with RIXTAA AA, the price of the new gun is getting a little too much, like him I was lucky and got a good deal with my local RFD, and did not pay full retail price.

Is pellet lube the same type as o'ring lube? Some kind of synthetic, non flammable oil. I guess it's somewhat related to silicon

Got a secondhand one a few weeks ago for 300 quid... blisteringly accurate with jsb diablo and a joy to shoot... looking at getting it tricked out now, was just going to be fun gun however since using it im amazed how good it is.. even pick it up over my hw100..

Nice review mate. I have had many pcp's and fell in love with the S200's! Funny how the price went up on them after many have found there true potenial. I personally have had 4 of them!! With the right pellet this little light air rifle will blow your mind actually. when you tune it a bit it will amaze... Yes the simplicity of the one is a plus. the barrels (cold hammer steel) from CZ gun makers are match, in my opinion. I have hunted in California for rabbits and Jack rabbits, and ground squirrels at 12FPE mind you!!! And used a moderator because of the bark it has and ALL my hunts brought a huge smile on my face. I would drive home after a weekend of pure hunting and would think, "I can't believe how it served those kill shots with a JSB 10.34gr pellet!!! The incredible thing is I had taken my Kaliber Cricket, and a Daystate Regal with me, and didn't even pull them out of their cases!!! I kept on with the S200AA 4.5 caliber!!! I have hunting buddies from Mountain Sport Airguns Channel/youtube where Dana Webb was pretty impressed on how the darn thing was behaving, knocking down 7 jack rabbits and a bunny in the first days session!!! To this day I still pain over the selling of all my guns. Reason being, had to move to Spain to take care of my folks, they are at that age... knowing that here I can't hunt or pest. I found a shop where they have S200AA's!!! Well, at least I can target shot :-) :-) But chances are that when my folks are not around anymore, I will sell here and go to England where it is a pleasure to pest n hunt. Besides,, I love tea, and have great great respect for the English, and England, should work out perfectly :-) :-) :-) :-) I digress.

I have the s200 in .177 and I use it for pest control, and I can say I would put it up against any gun high end gun spot on all the time best gun air arms have made

Bought the same rifle last year in .177 for the grandson to use at the range and I'm very impressed with the accuracy and feel of it. Only thing i would change is the trigger. Mine is rough and bitty through first and second stages when cocked, ok when not cocked so plan on a strip down later today see if i can't smooth things off a bit. Iv fitted a brass muzzle weight to bling it up a bit for the lad and he loves it. Would i recommend one.?? Yes, definitely. Tim

I saw Tedsholderover having a spiral instability issue in slow motion and when he cleaned the barrel it quit. But he also claims you need to stay sub sonic or under about 1050 feet per second as that also will cause flight instability.

a great what was a budget rifle, but now not so, price has shot up , now close to other slightly better all in multi shot rifles, AA cashing in especially with the add on mag device

I know this is an older video, I remember actually watching this when it came out! I would love to know where I could find the longer cylinder for the s200AA, or even be happy with a short regular one! I would surely appreciate any help on how I could get a gun shop contact, in the UK. I am now in Spain so IT shouldn't be a problem in shipping an air cylinder... Thank you so much!

Got the mk 3 In .22 , five shot group under a five pence peice at 25 yards , got a aa mod on no problem , great rifle for the money , got mine for £250 second hand , go buy one !!!!!!!

Just asking, Did you every chrono your gun. I have one that was shooting 9fpe from the shop in the uk, this rifle was bought in 2013ish I'm wondering if the duff shots on the h&n's was a heavy pellet that the aa's or jsbs and couldn't keep the group tight at that distance, Cheers and good video... Best rifle i have fired has always been Weihrauch's, I have been shooting 40 years and I still think the Weihrauch's are the mutts nuts, Although other guns are better but they are NOT cheaper then the Weihrauch's Today I picked up my mums s200 mk which she fired about 30 times in 3 years so the gun is MINT like new so I'll be getting to grips with it over the next few weeks. One thing I will say is the my s200 came shooting only 9fpe from the shop..... EEEKK. not impressed. My hw100s was amazing from the 1st moment and remained that way until I sold it in need of money. Sadly missed My advice to you is go to a gun shop and take a look. If you can find a hw100 second hand BUY it, unless you need a lighter gun in which case the s200 is a beautiful rifle. super well made, great balance, accurate as hell with JSB exacts or Air Arms field. I've not tried h&n like in this video but have found AA field to be about the best in most guns and h&n that were AMAZING in Weihrauch's NOT the s200, the maker of this video is right. see my comment at the top on the page. I hope this info helps

One of the best barrels ever made for an Air Rifle. Free float it and don't feed it Target Trophy crap and you'll be accurate
