Excellent accuracy. 🎯 Some people don't mind if a rifle isn't regulated. Once you figure out the sweet spot on the bell curve. It will absolutely shoot consistently. You will simply have fewer shots. However if you are hand pumping, that works perfectly. Plus no regulator means less to go wrong. My Kral Puncher Breaker has an excellent shot string. I usually shoot about 2 mags and then top it off. ES 11 and SD 2. 37ft pounds. 25cal. Excellent for hunting.🇺🇸

I have one of the original first ever Air Arms S510 SL Carbine .22 rifles. It has the traditional fleur-de-lis stippling, which is nicer than the stippling on the version in this footage. I've barely even used the rifle, not even had 200 pellets through it due to circumstances in my life at the time never got round to using it as often as I'd liked. It also has the Air Arms silencer and I also purchased a new extended air cylinder and a regulator etc to fit to it though never got around to it. I never use it so I'm planning on selling it.

I think this shows why hunting ranges should be kept below about 35 metres.That’s not a knock on your shooting btw,just a practicality 👍

Don't really follow you here.
@GeneralJoefish2 жыл бұрын
I don’t follow either especially as the competitive Airgun sports like FT and HFT can go up to 50 yards and those guys hit a target of up to 45mm at that range with precision! Also they don’t get a bench to rest on, or a bipod, or sticks etc it’s all done free hand! Not to bash on his shooting but this gun is easily capable of one hole groups at 30-40m especially so seeing as it’s designed to be a hunting rifle

I thoroughly enjoyed that. Another decent rifle from AA. Non-regulated doesn’t bother me. My S400 in .177 is bang on the money with AirArms field Diablo 8.44 4.51.

I tend to agree regarding the regulator, they are cool, but not make or break when it comes to a gun. Thank you for the encouraging comment. Take care.

A very enjoyable video Chris , watched it twice now , once last night ( I was a bit inebriated to say the least , so this morning watched it again , firstly , I think ( only my opinion ) you could put lower mounts on the scope to lessen the effects of " cant " , I noticed that on a few of the targets the groups were widening , obviously this could be down to wind , but I think lowering the scope will take a possible anomaly out of the equation .. nevertheless , it's quite accurate as it stands , as for filling the rifle , your right , there is a sweet spot with non regulated rifles , what I tend to do ( just as a rule of thumb , no specific logic or scientific data ect ) is to fill up around 20 bar less then it's max fill pressure with cylinder rifles , and around 30 bar less with buddy bottle guns , this ALSO applies to all my regulated rifles , dunno why I do it , just habit I guess ... Oh , except the RTI , I filled it too 200 bar when I first bought it , and it drops off the reg at around 150 bar ( gonna get me an adjustable reg pressure valve for it ) so I'm gonna fill it to it's full 300 bar capacity in future ( you don't even need to check pressure when filling , and it won't fill to 300 bar after the first top up either ) anyway , back to S510 , it is even in non reg form a very capable rifle , they also do 3 stock options in the " lite " model ( I'm sure it's 3 anyway ) I did have a brochure to check , but gave it to a workmate's son ( 10 at the time , and was really interested in air rifles ) ( there is a story attached to that , but I'll tell it another time ) that safely ain't really a problem , except when you've got gloves on , then it gets a bit fiddly , not a deal breaker by any means though , always found the bluing excellent on Air Arms , but very susseptable ( think I've spelt that wrong ) to finger prints , so I make an habit of wiping down every time I use it , watch when you fill it ( posted this on your last S510 vid ) go by the bottle gauge , the AA gauge is lazy and doesn't catch up for a minute or two ... just a little tip ( not that you need it ) I usually fill too full capacity IF I've cleaned the barrel prior to shooting , as the first 20 ~ 30 shots ( ish ) will be for leading in ... As far as leading in go's I have a Target card that I kept from a few years back on how ( from 10 shot mag to ten shot mag ) the leading in process works ( this was with my AAUS ) amazed me how the 4 ten shot groups tightened up from the initial ragged half crown size group to the last ( 4th ) group which is pellet through pellet hole @ 30mtrs , not even what you'd discribe as cloverleaf .. just one hole , never QUITE duplicated that result since .. that was probably the second reason I didn't throw the card away ... Anyway I'm rambling now , so off to watch MotoGP .. might do a bit on my range later , need to give a few a run out , won't be able to get to the shooting range till December now ...

Another enjoyable review. That's looks like an excellent gun for the money. I'm sure with more time getting used to the gun you could improve even further with the grouping, but you did an excellent job anyway. Shooting outside at those ranges and getting the groupings you achieved is very good indeed.

If the writing on the left side of the block says "S510-SL Carbine" then the SL means Side Lever not Superlite . It is only Superlite if it has that written on the block

Try shooting off a proper bench of the correct height with bi pod and rear bag and then you might improve the groups 😉

To be fair the price of the 510 you could buy a BSA for 30% less and hit as good or better at 30-40mtrs if this video is anything to go by, while I see your happy with the results? I’d be well un happy with these results when I can get better results for £1200 gun, and that is even regulated too…..this is not me moaning about your video or your opinion,my comment is based on your results,STILL I enjoyed the video
