Awesome! Thank you! I live in the Mohave desert. I'll definitely be making one of these!

Good luck! It will change the way you ride in hot weather. :)

Wet long sleeve cotton shirt, wring it out works best and repeat at gas stops. If really hot, same with wet bandana around neck to keep carotid artery cool.

Yeah, that works well for short rides. The vest actually holds quite a bit of water, but even that evaporates before I'm ready to stop. I've got 7 gallons of gas on board, lol...

@@JayBearjaysbigadventure yeah so for you, a cooling vest seems a better option. I have to stop every 100 miles or so to pee anyway so I just go to station and wet the shirt but really not often as up north we don’t have too many heat waves.

This is a complex but very well suited for bikers. Wowzza😱 innovative kudos for including the humidity factor. What a breeze 👍

Thanks! In a dry climate it is just amazing.

An easier way to pump the water is with your mouth. Camelbaks come with a self sealing fitting on the end of the tube for your mouth. You bite down on it to open it. Normally you suck in water to drink, then blow in the tube to force the water in the tube back down into the bag so it stays cool. I would add a one way check valve to the tube between the two body sprayers that only lets water out of the bag. Next install check valves on each sprayer that let water out but not in. To use it, just grab the mouth fitting and suck in a mouthfull of water. (The check valves in the body sprayers keep you from sucking air through them.) You can drink it if you want or expel it back into the tube where the bottom check valve keeps it from going back into the bag, but the check valves on the sprayers open and let the water flow onto your chest. Cheap, easy to fabricate, and lets you use water to drink or cool you off as you wish.

Sorry I’m late here. What I did last Friday when it hit up to 104, I wrapped an ice pack under my shirt against my chest. I wrapped the ties around my neck, which is probably a bad idea. Next tine I’ll secure the straps to my back pack so it’s not around my neck. I felt better by the time I got home than the day before when it was 98•. I also drank 2 bottles of ice water, 20 ounces each. My ride was about 35 minutes, city roads, very, very hot sitting at red lights.

I feel your pain, lol! If you get behind on the hydration you're just done, and that is when it gets dangerous.
