I own this jacket and it works well. Several additional points: - In Japan, for safety, the arms are fully covered year round. The coverage of this jacket meets those safety requirements. - The jacket is available in a variety of fabrics. Each fabric is a different color. One of the optional fabrics is fire retardant and suitable for welding applications. - Disposable fan filters are available. This prevents debris such as workshop sawdust to get ingested and blown up into your face. - To enhances cooling, cool packs are available that insert into the mesh pockets inside the jacket. - Sealed tight around the waist and wrists, and the collar secure, a steady cool flow of air is directed out the collar, around the neck and to the face. When I first wore it, people were skeptical and chuckled at its appearance, but after a short time, they became more curious and respected the concept. The jacket I have is blue.

I was thinking welding applications or even a motorcycle jacket if it were leather, etc. The concept does have some decent applications, but I'm not sure if this is the best iteration of it.

I am currently working in a big chemical plant in Germany. The Company is also known in America for cancer and some other stuff. We have to be covered at all times. Even it the summer we have to wear a long jacket and long trousers. No one knows if there is a pipe dripping. If there is some dangerous stuff we have to wear protection suits.

I've been to japan on holiday 2 years ago and they did some road work. Of course I chose the end of July/beginning of August for my trip, which meant it had 38-40°C pretty much every day. Not only did they fully rip up and rebuild an entire street in a single day (they started around 6am I guess and the road was ready to use with road marks at 6pm), which is something I just couldn't believe as a german guy, but they also all had jackets similar to this one. Their jackets looked a lot thicker, almost like a thick winter jacket, but it was all just air and they even had a little pouch for ice cubes right infront of the fans. The Japanese have a solution for every problem you don't even know it existed.

A battery to pull down your pants with a jacket that blows you from behind. Not my cup of tea. I guess the japanese have always been into the more "interesting" activities.

Living in Okinawa Japan. Every worker on island is rocking one of these jackets as the summer is brutal.

That Adapter fro the Makita battery would come in handy for _a lot_ of homebrew projects where I need a portable high amperage power source

Where's the fan in the crotch pants for that real cheap happy ending?
@hyperboloidofonesheet10363 жыл бұрын
Sure, have the fan blow air down round the scrotum, past the taint, and exhaust out the ass crack just like god intended it to.

I'm a welder. In the summer, I'd put an old air line in my pant belt loops inside my coveralls, with holes drilled every couple inches. Had a small valve to control flow. Even at 35°C, I was confortably cool. Low-tech, low cost, low-maintenance.

That would be perfect for arc-flash protective clothing. It gets super hot in the flash suit, and a few well placed fans would kick ass.

Good for warm/rain, and also good for delivery drivers when it's cold outside, but warm in the vehicle. Or anybody else who doesn't want to take their jacket off every 10-15 minutes. Certainly a niche product, but not totally useless. What I need is air conditioned pajamas.

Currently living in Okinawa japan these are very common for people who work outside in the summer. The uv index is super high so sunburn and skin damage require long sleeve shirts. Or jackets. The air cooled jackets are super commonly seen.

The jacket insulates, so it keeps the cooler air in against the body. Helps people with certain disabilities or just on stupidly hot days. Or if buildings dont have AC.

I actually use those in the summer. I'm a solar panel installer. Roofs can get really hot in the summertime. This jacket actually reflects some of the heat that comes of the roof. UV rays wil also get too harsh so we have to protect ourselves, covering your body up with clothing. This jacket helps a lot during heatwaves. Without it I suffer from heat exhaustion a lot faster. (I still do when using this jacket, but only need a quick break every 45 minutes or so, instead of every 10 minutes) It has a few design flaws. The conectors get loose easily. And the cable can break, in the same way cheap headphone cables also tend to do. They cost me about €100,- but with labour at €60,- an hour they quickly pay for themselves. Usually in just one day of working in a heatwave. They last us about one season.
