As a former Army Combat Medic 68W, Dad and GrandDad, thank you for reacting to this “real” song. It’s the war we fight when we get home only Vets truly understand. To my Brothers, Hooah! 🙏🏼🇺🇸

My father a 27 year 4 tour vet talks about the air strikes because he was on the ground. He was a path finder and went though the extensive training to direct air strike relief and dropping more men in a hot zone. There’s a math to it. And it’s crazy to gather all that info and crunch all those numbers in a moment. You always brace. Poking out looking for RPGs so it can hit. True hero’s.

I wish we could take away the ghosts and demons from those who have served. Living your life and, the slightest thing, a sound or a smell, and you’re back in country. When you know it’s not real but your body, brain and psyche say that it’s real, you push through and keep it in because the only ones who you can talk to also deal with it. #hangovergang forever 🤙🏽

If you are ever in the mood to hang out with an old guy in New Hampshire, let TreTV know if you visit our state-dinners on me. I can't help but think about my Dad and his sacrifices to provide for and protect our family. He served in the Navy and married my Mom a year after getting home. He quickly began working nonstop to save for a home. Days, nights, and weekends until I was twelve years old. I never saw him much as I was the oldest, but things finally started to break his way, and he cut his hours back to fifty a week on one job instead of three. As I aged, we became best friends, and it wasn't until my Mom got sick that he shared some of his struggles with me. I was blown away. He never showed stress. He just got the job done. Happily, my Mom got better, but then cancer took my Dad from us. That was when I was sixty-two, and I let him know it was my turn to step up. Dad, I love you and miss you every day. I'm sixty-four today and don't think twice about being the provider and protector. It's in our DNA, I guess.
