It didn't wash them off. Putting olive oil on 1st actually is badd because it creates a layer between the seasoning and the meat. Meaning less flavor. You want to do seasoning 1st so it's actually gets cooked into the chicken. Rather than just on top of the chicken

this is great cause our family uses an air fryer for most things since it means our energy costs are lower (idk the science behind that, but we really need air fryer tutorials)
