This video reminds me of the time when I was learning how to cook. I had just bought the diet plan (created it on Next Level Diet) at the age of 22 and started preparing my own meals from the food I got in the plan. I was so motivated back then. I broke my barriers when it comes to amount of food I can eat in a day, resulting in noticeable gains for a newbie. I recommend everyone to take care of their diet first, the rest will come naturally.

Dried starches like lentils, beans, peas and all that stuff are great for meal prepping. Even rice is reasonably cheap if you buy in bulk. Legumes are relatively high in protein, but also pack some carbs and are super universal, as they will go with pretty much everything else. Fish, chicken, meat etc. and even in a salad type dish to make it more substantial. For inspiration, check cultures that live off of these ingredients. Indian cooking is amazing, Asian and Central and South American cooking as well. Lots of flavor with not as many ingredients and easily adaptable to your taste and whatever you have in your fridge and pantry.

Been eating this breakfast for a month, low cal salad and a fruit for lunch, and just shy of 1 cup rice w/ 5 oz chicken and 100 grams veggie of choice everyday. Along with upping my cardio work (gyms closed so decided to just run and cut) i'm down 15lbs. 15 lbs in a single month. I cant believe it and now i meal prep everything. Thanks Noel for making my life simpler, really appreciate it. I'm prepping for my first half marathon now and will be running a full marathon spring 2022. It's amazing how some simple advice and following through with it for just a short time can change your whole outlook on life. Like really appreciate your honesty and drive to see everyone reach their true potential. Again Thanks. Tips not in the video but i found made things easy for me. 1. The oven is your friend. cook a whole pack of chicken spiced how you want (im a sucker for cajun spice mix) at 400deg for 20 - 25 mins. Always juicy and keeps for 4 - 5 days. 2. While the chicken is baking you can bake all the veg you need at the same time. Saves me tons of clean up and is also super healthy with no added oils. Peppers, brussel sprouts, carrots are my go to's. 3. Find quick and easy to put together meals so not everything is prepped. Variety is also good and will keep you interested. I like using turkey bacon in low cal ceasar dressing i make for salads that still pack in the flavor at only 300 cal for a huge bowl. I don't adhere to a budget as tight as this video. I do this because i am currently cutting and sometimes i need extra food to make me feel satisfied after a workout. 4. Make each week a different theme. i have my fallback cajun every other week but add indian, italian, and asian meals in to keep it interesting and to learn how to cook different things. 5. Remember, following a diet and messing up is ok, just keep pushing forward. hitting 80% a month is stumbling 6 times. Practice makes perfect.

First meal I've tried of this was the chicken meal. Great shout for paprika & turmeric, chicken finally tastes good again. As for the potatos & carrots, I've been cutting the potato's into the shape of mini fries basically and putting that with the chopped carrots into a bowl and lathering them with extra virgin olive oil and putting them in the oven for an hour at 350F. Tastes fucking amazing. What I love about this meal prep system is you can take away or add whatever you'd like and it's a nice general structure to follow for cheap. Great stuff yet again Noel, I know this vid is pretty old but can't wait to try out the other meals. Thanks for making food fun again. :)

Man in less than a year prices for these have gone up a bunch. Still extremely cost effective. Example: chicken breasts are at least $2.1/lb at walmart for the walmart junk and $3/lb for slightly higher quality. Lentils are $1.25/lb. Eggs now like $1.50/dozen. Quality whey protein is at least $1/serving now. Overall 25-40% increases in cost.

I highly recommend you count your calories. There is a lot of good information on r/gainit. Being perpetually skinny is almost always due to not eating enough food, genetics and metabolism can always be overcome with a calorie surplus. It'll be a hard transition to up your calorie intake by several hundred per day, but once you get used to it, you'll be gaining in to time. Just make sure to lift as well or else you'll just gain a bunch of fat :P

A lot of meat pushers would say that lentils are an incomplete protein. Which means some of the essential amino acids are missing. Which is technically true, but as long as you receive multiple sources, and you're not depriving yourself of protein, the quality of the protein is somewhat irrelevant. And the main amino acid you're aiming for for muscle building especially is leucine. Which I'm fairly certain, there is plenty of in lentils.

@@CalDal_22 I lost 20lbs in a month *somewhat* easily, and eventually lost a total of 50bs a few months later. I was cutting my portions down about 1/3 to 1/2 of what I was eating, increasing vegetable intake, reducing beef/pork in favor of seafood/chicken (but also not making meat the focus), cutting dairy almost completely,, and limiting the carbs. I had a fruit/oat smoothie for breakfast, vegetarian lunch, and snacking on fruits/nuts or even some veggies between meals. No processed foods, no sodas/fruit juices. Drink mostly water and good teas/coffee! I did not change my activity levels or alter my alcohol intake. I had to cook a lot more and be more selective if I ate out but I never once felt like I was sacrificing the pleasure of food. I also didn't eat based on a clock... if I wasn't hungry at lunch time I didn't eat, if I got hungry halfway to dinner time I just ate a snack. I ended up skipping quite a few meals as the weeks went by and it also resulted in a 3 day fast (water/coffee only) that I had to intentionally break because I literally had no craving for food. Hunger was only an issue after dinner time for about the first two weeks because I also did not want to eat 4 hours before bed, so I couldn't snack to help. However, it was bearable and after some time my body adjusted to the new portion sizes and the hunger went away. I didn't count a damn thing. Just followed these basic principles and ate whatever I wanted. Tons of chicken tacos, vegetable/rice stir fries, salads, toasted tomato sandwiches... and I gave myself 1 cheat meal every two weeks. It seems like a lot at first but after a couple of days it just becomes clear what places and foods to avoid and all of a sudden you're easily navigating your new routine. Don't micro-manage your diet and stress yourself out! Set some simple guidelines like these for yourself, follow them for a month, and see what happens. You can start fine tuning your diet and exercise plans by the results you are experiencing vs someone telling you what is right for you.
