LOVE your recipes. Crusty old bachelor here. New to airfryer. I am subscribed to your channel but never knew how to tackle mince. I'm not a fan of garlic (If I ate it, my building would move 2 postcodes the next day) but this video has inspired me to buy again, substitute half an onion (post code again) and add tomato and some mixed herbs. I'll let you know .

That sounds lovely. I am obsessed with garlic but fine without.

I too would have never thought to make ground beef in my air fryer. Thank you for posting this. I did have two questions: 1. can you line the bottom of the air fryer with paper towels before you put the basket in to help with cleanup? 2. If you'd like to add minced onions would you cooks those first and then add the beef?
@Recipethis Жыл бұрын
Yes to both. But you can also cook onion and meat at the same time. Or i have done it like this recipethis.com/air-fryer-lasagna/

God bless Tesco 5% mince. I've recently moved home and don't have a space for an oven/hob. Silly kitchen design. I'm relying on my ait fryer to cook everything I would on the hob. Look like I'll be having tacos tonight. Thank you.

Thanks for doing this .I've been toying with buying an air fryer largely so I can start cooking mince again! Just wondering if/when I would add chopped tomatoes to this ie put it in with the mince or should I cook separately on my hob?
@Recipethis9 ай бұрын
If you mean to make a bolognese then like you would in a pan - when the mince is almost cooked.

I have a smaller air fryer (2.2L) which is proving fine when cooking for one. As such, I use lower quantities of ingredients. Which leads me to my question. If using a smaller quantity of mince, say 200g - 250g instead of the amount you used, how would that affect cooking times and temperature settings? I've just eaten a cottage pie using a portion of mince-based meat mixture that I originally cooked in a pressure cooker and divided into individual portions to freeze. Cooking from fresh in my air fryer would be an interesting alternative.

Hi Steve, sorry for the delay totally forgot to get back to you. In regards to your question i have found that you only need to reduce the cook time if reducing the quantity by 75% and if its 50% (like yours is) then its fine to keep the same time and temp. Though whilst i love the air fryer, i do think for the meal prep you probably get better and easier results from the instant pot. Oh and did you know you can cook the mince and mash at the same time in the instant pot.

Can I defrost it first in the air fryer? If yes, what temperature and time? Thank you so much
@Recipethis Жыл бұрын
I would start with 5 minutes at 160c 360f and then see how it is doing.

@@Recipethis I’ll do it tomorrow! Thank you so much!!! The non-frost recipe of you is GREAT! It’s the way I do the mince from now on. Thank you again so much!

I never thought that you could cook mince in a frying pan without oil ? Now I love our Air fryer but of course you can .Mince regardless of quality has a fat content that allows this ?
@Recipethis Жыл бұрын
Yes it does. I used 5 percent mince and I’ve also done it with full fat. Also good for getting the extra fat out of it as you cook.

My hubs isn’t keen on garlic. Could I just do it with chopped onion, to use it for cottage pie?
@Recipethis Жыл бұрын
Yes you can. You can also cook chopped carrots if making cottage pie.
@alfieking5983 Жыл бұрын
Mince has its own fat, I always do it without oil on the stove.

Can you add onions to this
@DavidSantos-ix1hu2 ай бұрын
Yes I add garlic and onions usually dice it fine so when mixed the onion flavor cooks in throughout.
@TehLiquid Жыл бұрын
4:30 sure if you buy lean beef, but if you buy 20-25% fat, you don't need oil, it cooks in its own fat.
