Halloween Witch Finger Sugar Cookies
Makes 24 cookies:
2 sticks butter, salted
1 cup sugar
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp almond extract
3 drops green food coloring
Almonds slices for nails
Raspberry jelly for blood
1. Set the appliance to the Bake setting.
2. Set the cooking temperature to 350° F and preheat.
3. Beat the butter until smooth.
4. Add the sugar and almond extract.
5. Slowly add the flour until well mixed.
6. Add food coloring and roll dough into a log with parchment paper.
7. Refrigerate for at least an hour.
8. Once the dough is firm, cut ½ inch circles from the dough log.
9. Cut each circle in half and roll to look like a finger.
10. Indent one end of the ‘finger’ and gently press a sliced almond in to resemble a finger nail.
11. Use a fork to make indentations in the middle of the ‘finger’ to create ‘knuckles’.
12. Bake 10 - 15 minutes on the Bake setting until the cookies are done. Remove and cool.
13. Microwave the raspberry jam for 15 seconds (or more if necessary) until liquid.
14. Dip the cookies in the raspberry jam and serve.
