First time for me to try that type of shrimp paste... marinating the chicken drummets right now uusing your recipe but OH BOY, I was in shock with the super pungent smell of that shrimp paste. I looked at the jar after all drummets has been mixed with the ingredients and I happened to notice that BEST USE DATE has expired in Aug 2020 but the show must go on, assuming the jar was sealed tight and no discolor anyway. Wonder though whether it is supposed to smell super strong? 🤔😁 Am used to cook with the dark type of shrimp paste as I am Indonesian but did not expect to be in shock today 😅 Oh, one more question. How's the smell while they are airfrying? I live in an apartment. I could move the airfryer to my balcony so the whole apartment won't smell shrimp paste for days? 🤔 (from the experiences of making Indonesian sambal terasi) 😃

Hi. Just made a batch yesterday. But the skins came out abit mushy and flaky. Is this because I did not let the wings drop down to room temp after I took them from the fridge?
@spicenpans6 жыл бұрын
Hi Sean. Yes you’ll need to let the temperature of the wings drop to room temp - just take them out from the fridge about 15 mins before doing the next step - which is to coat the chicken with flour- after you’ve coated, please leave the chicken for another 15 mins so that the flour sticks to the chicken nicely. Hope this helps. Let us know if you still have problems.

Have you tried placing more chicken pieces in it? 1kg of chicken might take hours to do if it’s just 4 pieces each time!
@spicenpans6 жыл бұрын
Hi Joshua. That’s the problem with airfryer. You can put more than 4 in as Long as they are not on top of each other. If you stack them, you may have to compromise on the end result- may not be as crispy. By the way we air fried four only for this video as we wanted to save them for our friends who were coming over for dinner.
